Have you guys ever had a bad response to a Interracial story?

I never have, but I also tend to do white male-Asian female, which is the most common interracial marriage in the US, so it's probably not as taboo. That being said, I would certainly expect a more negative reaction to black male interracial stories, especially with a white or Asian female. Some people are just racist. Nothing to do but call them out on it.

I am pretty sure that if you post the story in interracial then no one is going to care a character is black.

Lets say it was just in there under erotic couplings? I have a story and I put one of hottest scenes and decriptions ever. When i ficished the story i was like you know what this guy should be black. I mean this was way after it came back the editor.

This story got my lowest rating ever. Although it is heavy on the political topics. No reviews or anything from the two story series. Left me a bit depressed. After i bough the rope at Home Depot I decided shit happens so alas i'm still living.

I’ll write loving wives, when I’ suffering through depression and need pats on the back for even the stupidest stories. LW is the Hyundai of Literotica.
It’s more on the nerd side as a story. I had big plans for this as a series. The second story played out betters. When I wrote the two stories it was one, but their a bit different so I cut them up.

The story was named "Fucking the Gardener" and there were several other comments along the same line. I could delete this kind of thing, but I find them amusing.

There were also some, apparently from white women, expressing envy for the woman in the story.

Interracial is one of a few categories I'm not likely to ever dabble in. It's just not a big enough deal to me to be erotic on its own, so any story I do write that features an interracial encounter is likely to have some other more defining characteristic. It's just one step above Erotic Couplings in terms of being a convenient catch-all as far as I'm concerned.

Incidentally, I'm white and my wife is Asian.

If it's a straight up erotic coupling I still don't see an issue. As Box mentioned in LW it gets roasted, but that's because every black man there is portrayed as a thug who does nothing but degrade and demean white women(usually in front of their husbands)

If you write the guy "straight up" I don;t see an issue.

However, understand lit is driven by "kink" and there are categories for a reason.

If you are going to have a black/white coupling why not just go in the interracial category and cash in on the proper audience?

Depends whether you're writing BLACK STUD SLAMMING WHITE BABE, or something a bit more nuanced where the racial difference is mentioned in the story without being the central fetish. In the latter case, I'm not sure that IR would be a good fit - the people who are looking for B/W fetish fodder won't appreciate it, and the people who might be interested in other elements of the story won't see it.

Nope, I've done a couple of IR stories and never got slammed. Quite the opposite in fact.

I have noticed and had comments to the effect that stereotypes abound in the category and a lot of readers don't like it. It gets old quick, according to them.

The first story I put up in that category had no stereotypes and ended up story of the year so maybe they are right. The second story up now is the same and doing very well.

I truly believe the IR gets a bad rap. Some of it, I readily admit is deserved. Although I love good writing period and I'm particular about what I read regardless of the category, I'm a black woman and generally IR is the only category where I can easily find stories that involve black women. Of course as a writer, my lead characters are generally black and all the stories I've written for Lit have been IR. That is the only place on Lit where I run into other black females. Sure, the majority of the stories in that area I wouldn't touch. I hate the stereotypes! There are some authors that regularly contribute to that genre...well, let's just say that just seeing their handle makes me cringe. But, that's not all that is there. Like in every other category, there are some writers that take their time and write well written and developed stories with amazing depth. The characters just happen to be in an interracial relationship, the story itself is universal. There is a lot of crap on Lit. But, it's like that in every category.

What makes me feel better about it and keeps me from leaving Lit all together is that the IR stories with the obscene, unrealistic sexual stereotypes have not overtaken the area. The contest winners, the top list authors are not writing that shit. For that I'm thankful.

Still, I get the racist comments and the ridiculous PM's. Lit is predominantly white. That's just how it is. And yes, I know that if I wrote a black leading male character and made him just an average guy, it's not going to do well on here. Of course there would be some that would just want to read a well written story, but the majority wants the crap with that particular character. IR scores low and is probably the least respected area (Incest is loved more here). It's the nature of the beast. Know that there are other sites that cater to the type of IR I prefer and encourage good writing. I'm of the belief that the writer has to stay true to himself and write what they feel is good. Your audience will find you. Don't cater to response. It only hurts you as a writer.

Oddly enough, completely by accident one of my stories must have looked like it would involve incest. I had so many hits. It was unbelievable. A story that I feel is one of my best was totally torn apart by my commenters. Not because it was not well written, but because I had a mfm threesome and the males were lovers. People were upset that I let a black woman sleep with a white homosexual without using a condom. They felt like I had done a dis-service to black women and the fight against aids. The comments hurt. I couldn't bring myself to continue the story here. The worse commenter even left a link for my readers to go to. Which I believe is against site rules. I didn't mess with it, even though people kept sending me emails to have the comment removed. Why? People have a right to their opinion. Never the less, I love the story and the characters. So, I took it somewhere else and it won an award. Go figure. I didn't change a thing. Look critically at your work, take what advice you can use and throw away what you can't. Enjoy the writing and stay away from the cookie cutter crap. Hope for the best. Lit is like New York. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. When I get love I greatly appreciate it and I let the commenter know (or at least I try to).

As far as that particular story is concerned, I've so many requests to continue it that I will. One Litster told me that if one of my characters would have been alien, someone would have commented that aliens from that planet have no distended sexual organs so I shouldn't have written it. The lesson there is that some people are on here to bitch and sometimes they run across your stuff. Take it with a grain of salt.


It's early and I haven't had my coffee, so I may not make any sense. I'll accept that scrutiny too.

My 2 cents

I occasionally read IR stories, and to date I have submitted one piece in that section. In my experience, the section is relatively troll-free. That is probably due to the fact that it is exactly what it says it is: A place for stories involving sex between people of different races. Those who are offended by that concept have no reason to go there, and for the most part, they don't.

My only disappointment with the IR section is that the stories are overwhelmingly Black male/White female in orientation (>90%, I estimate). For those of us interested in other color/sex combinations, the pickings are slim. However, across the entire internet the breakdown is pretty similar, so there is no reason why Lit. should be any different.

Most of my stories involve characters of varying races and nationalities, primarily White, African-American, and Hispanic. (I'll leave the the fact that Hispanic is not a race for another discussion). I don't have a lot of experience with Asians, so I don't write about them. I don't post more stories in IR because, for the most part, race is not the focus of the stories. The characters happen to be of different races and nationalities because that is how the world works. Nearly every group I belong to is integrated, so I write about integrated groups.

To the OP: Unless you are writing about a white wife being taken by a large black male, and submitting your story in LW, you should not receive any fallout over the fact that one of your characters happens to be of another race.

It’s just really kept me scared to put black people in my stories in a casual sense. The character was made pretty universal. I think i'll just pull the story.

No I agree, a story has to have a soul and a message. It can't all be fucking. We must challenege the status quo and speak truth to stupid.

loq actually what you should do is just write the damn stories how you want. What i do and mostly it works fine. I have tons of the red H's, tons of stories to but I don't really care about that. I just write up what strikes my fancy and screw what everyone else says.

I guess people know I don't really care because I don't get that much feedback. I'm writing for me, I just like posting it because I don't really read the stories again and it cuts down on memory.

I would add "POC as a tag word. That will attract the people who know what POC means, who -- what a coincidence-- are the people who would want to read about a person of color as a regular person.

Oh this is embarrassing, I had to finish reading all that to figure out what POC meant.

Anyway I agree don't pull the story, sorry I missed that before. You need a thick skin to post stories on here. You also need to remember one thing, every single time you get feedback the person read the story and got off so they are feeling guilty about it. Forget the ones who say I couldn't read this, they went all the way to the end of the story to give feedback, I get those on longer stories so obviously they kept going.

Think about that, they stroked or fingered to climax then send feedback. No matter what they say, they got off to the story so right then and there you wrote a good enough story. They feel guilty because they got off to something they think they shouldn't have. Loving Wives is full of trolls because they get off on cheating wives and know they shouldn't so take it out on the author. That is the reason for the negative feedback.
