I'm baaaaaaaack

Well it had been 13 years since your last post, that’s a whole lot of fellatio skill honing

Let’s be fair here: Between the passage of time and  the passage of people, very few people from 2009 are still here, and the OP did participate for a while way back when. (My time in authors hangout began in about 2015, so I wasn’t here in 2009 either).

So although I’ve been guilty too (but hey, they deserved it!), we have to admit when we are overly cliquey and unwelcoming to newbies (or backagainbees).

OP in this case isn’t declaring their superiority to all of us (and making nonsensical analogies, laughing maniacally at their own jokes, and sounding crazy), asking why their underage story was rejected, or seeking a hot female coauthor, they’re just saying hello with exuberance.

So say hello back. Exuberance optional. ;-)

Posting less about being back on the board; more about publishing new stories.

Not exactly a lot of other ways to communicate that fact.

But thank you. And apologies if this was totally out of line somehow.

It’s acceptable to exude exuberance.

Except, if you stick around you’ll be at risk of becoming like us. Be afraid. Be very afraid. ;-)

Relatively few typical readers in this specific group, btw. Just a bunch of regulars, largely authors, some very active, some still clinging to their union cards (like me). Many here do read, yes, but still a very small group, compared to readers at large.

The best way to reach readers en masse is to publish lots and often. All the other tips you’ll see or hear have merit too, but generally generate a trickle, whereas the new story will be a flash flood that will quite likely be washed away by the next day.
