WTF.....I go to file my unemployment claim online and it tells me I can only file online between 7 and 7 monday thru friday.

I thought the whole idea of the net was that it was open 24 hours.

nitwits i say.

Yup - that's screwy. In Washington state you can file online 24 hours a day 6-7 days a week (as I remember, they did maintenance to their system for a period of time on Sunday or something like that).

that is pretty fucked up..... they must do like "live" interaction or something..... in OR you can file claims and do job searchs 24/7... actually the like you to do it on the net.... cuts down on the rediculous lines at the unemployment offices......

Can't tear yourself away from Lit long enough, eh Killswitch? Tsk, tsk. How sad.

well the only beni I see from it is that they arent walking into a system on monday morning that would take them till wednesday to clean out and process.

They have closed nearly all of the branch offices here. There are only four in the entire state of Michigan. Not one within 75 miles of me.

So....filing online is great, but then they make you report physically to job service so I can open my resume, make any changes, and get a card stamped.

The sytem here is just really screwy.

But not nearly as bad as it used to be waiting online to file for five hours, and online every two weeks for five to get a check.

so....its better, but it could be better still.

yup....I spend all my waking hours here and nothing gets done.

Maybe they figure if you are unemployed, you should be available between those hours.

Actually, it is probably a maintenance issue. They probably are not confident enough in the robustness of their system to leave it running 24/7. When you pay half as much as the private sector you don't get the sharpest tacks in the bunch to design, setup and maintain your system.

they are wrong.

during those hours I will be working under the table so some government beaurocrat cant rip me off, and call it a tax.

soon.....I will be taking my money so far underground the government will never see another dime if they dont stop ripping me off.

Under the table work sucks....when your ex is doing it to avoid paying childsupport.

I guess i am to damn Honest. I claim all income

So you would be one of those rare people who actually contributes to society right? That is why KS doesn't understand you.

You see, people who work "under that table" and complain about taxes are equal to people who shoot themselves in the ass and complain about gun safety.

You aren't "saving" your money from the government, you are ripping off all the people who actually PAY taxes when our taxes are raised to cover your criminal ass.

Jesus KS, you don't have a single redeaming quality do you?

Basically this is my philosophy when it comes to my money.

Its mine.

Leave it the fuck alone.

If you want some, ask.

If you have something to offer me in exchange?

We can negotiate a fair price for your goods and services.

I hardly think my few hundred dollars a month under the table is going to knock the economy off its axis Sunny.

Pookie: Will you take care of Meadow when I go to jail for tax evasion?

Hopefully when I retire, I'll benefit from the taxes I've been paying since I was 14.

Unless KS uses it all up and there's none left for me.

Actually, while I agree with KS in the sense that it is his money and he shouldn't be forced to pay taxes for social programs, such programs are only about a third of the tax bill anyone in the USA pays. Moreover, it is dishonest to not pay your taxes on that basis. I always pay every single cent and then some, but I try to work through proper channels to get the amount spent on social programs reduced, and I think it is working.

EE, as for SS & Medicare; most people would be better off taking that money and investing it themselves - especially people like my kids who will probably never see a cent of the money they pay into SS. In fact, they would be better off recieving that money now while they are struggling to survive on their meager salaries.

I'm sorry but I disagree. I'm glad a fraction of my taxes go to social programs in the off chance that something terrible happens and I need them. Then I've earned the period of time that I've used them. And if I don't ever need them, big fucking deal. I live in this country, why shouldn't I be contributing to it?

And don't we get deductions from our paychecks that go toward unemployment pay? The same paychecks that KS is trying to get right now? But he doesn't want to pay taxes?

Huh.

I'm sorry, but did Shithead actually say that was his reason for not wanting to pay taxes? I'd hate to actually go back and re-read his posts, lol. To me this would signify a level of reasoning I just don't believe he has.

We pay disability insurance huh? Maybe that's what this is on my paystub.

I had to go get it and look :D
