Welcome to Lit Mike. I don't understand why we Americans expect eveyone to learn English (but we do). In our cities we have programs to teach in Spanish because the kids can't speak/read English. There is a certain backlash to this and people want everyone to just speak English.

Where I live, Massachusetts, we have a lot of emigrants. They are forming their own communities, just like when the Irish, Germans and French, etc. were coming in droves.

As to the question: I believe that cyber-sex and phone sex is cheating and I have done both. May God have mercy on my soul. And I'm still doing it and I see no end in sight.

In the past, when i was SERIOUSLY considering cheating, the thought of the guilt was kind of a turn on.. might sound crazy but that was just me.

I know a lot of people who speak English as a second language and most of them have better (English) writing skills than native speakers.

Ever read a letter from someone in southern Indiana.....or a real redneck area....forget it....it is in a foreign language........and english is their first language

So long as we are making points about native speakers often not using proper English themselves, I will point out that the correct word in this situation (i.e., people who arrive from a foreign land to settle in a new one) would be immigrants. People leaving a country are emigrants.
