Indigo Girls

I fully expect to be mistaken for a lesbian. I'm hoping a bunch of cutesy lipstick-y college age nubile experimental faux dykes will run up and kiss me. I imagine Lady P will find this amusing.

Don't forget to wear your hemp sandals.

Man, that brings back a month of Sundays listening to college radio and caulking, painting, putting in drop ceilings and moving walls and stuff.

Indigo Girls never did it for me for some reason.

Me, too, after tonight. They put on an incredible show, and their backup band was phenomenal, trio of guys called Shadowboxers.

Yes, btw, they played Closer To Fine as the last song before the encores. Had the audience sing the college verse. The second encore was Tangled Up In Blue, and each member of the band as well as Amy and Emily took a verse. Every one of them nailed it perfectly. Set list was a nice mix of Amy the punk and Emily the angel. Really, a great show.

True story: One of Lady P's colleagues during her Greenpeace days was friends with the IG's, because they were always doing benefits and stuff. His gf, also a GP worker, was a rabid fan and tried and tried, and finally got him to take her backstage. She said Amy was a lovely, sweet person, sort of shy, and very humble. In short, exactly like her public persona. I always like to hear that people with such juice are nice people.

I was into them when I was in law school 20+ years ago. Didn't know they were still touring.
