I recently posted an interracial story and the only two comments were hoping he "knocked her up." We all have our kinks but I find it amusing how many comments hope for some impregnation in future episodes, especially in the incest category.

I can only assume the kink has something to do with an idea that incestuous impregnation is the Ultimate Taboo. It's the fullest extent that incest can go, and the most forbidden.

Yes, I've been struck by how often readers of my mom-son incest stories wish that the son had knocked her up. I finally gave in to it and added that element to my mom-hucow story, because I figured the story was so bat-shit insane, what the hell.

I actually stressed out loads over when she would start to have morning sickness and when there might be any impact on her mood etc. I ended up with a timeline, which I’m sure might help my bf in future years .

E.g. warning Emily might be extra cranky between these dates…

Interracial is full of those comments and they're racist with a capital R.

Because it's about a white woman being 'bred' by a black man which to the ignorant is somehow not just an ultimate taboo, but insult to the white women for carrying a black baby.

This isn't kink shaming because when your kink is racism (unrequited and never admitted of course) it should be pointed out. Like violence, racism should never be sexualized.

I agree. In virtually every Incest story that I've ever written, at least 1 reader will comment that he wants to see the female let get impregnated by the male family member.

I realize that incest is already "taboo", but you're right. It IS rather curious.

Thinking more about this, I think the pregnancy obsession is a progression of things that turn readers on.

Perhaps it starts off with liking stories about kissing cousins, in-laws who like to keep things in the family, flirty stepsiblings and hot step-parents. It then progresses to pairings like uncle/niece or aunt/nephew, and from there to stories where it is full blood relatives only (mother/father/brother/sister/son/daughter). By that stage only sex between immediate family members turn them on, and a story about two cousins fucking in the basement at Thanksgiving or a guy spying on his pretty stepsister as she swims naked in the pool thinking she is alone in the house that did it for them a few years ago no longer has this effect. But when the immediate family stories are starting to lose their appeal, perhaps from reading so many of them, they need something more taboo to get off to. And what could be more taboo than a pregnancy resulting from incest?

That's just my theory, others might think differently, but it seems odd that apart from some few and far between comments in the 'nicer' categories like Erotic Couplings and Romance wishing characters well for the future and hoping that they get married and have children, pregnancy comments are really only frequently found in Incest/Taboo.

I had my characters make a baby at the end of my story The White Room and afterwards somebody pointed out I'd missed a golden opportunity to tag it "impregnated" because it would have drawn a much larger audience.

Definitely keeping that in mind for next time

I had a reader snidely express that she hoped my MMC would accidentally knock up the FMC in a non-con story. The comment seemed to arise from a dislike of the category as much as anything.

Separately, I've been surprised lately to see the amount of comments from or about young women and being bred. Like "How's your pull-out game?", "Would you cream pie me?", "18 and ready to breed," etc.

I’ve seen some I/T stories where the impregnation was preceded by some blurb saying that the (consanguineous) parents did some genetic testing and therefore it’s all good!

Yup, it sure is great that you’re having your incest with the side of eugenics…

It might be a facet of the same daredevil mentality that drives people to do risky stunts, or even silly little flexes like standing with their feet halfway off a ledge. They get a thrill from the danger, or at least from the idea of it, so they might well be intrigued by reading about relatives who act in such a fashion. A first-generation offspring of siblings isn't all that much more likely than the general population to have debilitating birth defects (unless one or both of the parents do, of course), so it's a lot easier to handwave those odds away.
But in the end, I think they're just the other side of the coin to people who comment to complain about the lack of birth control or safe sex in stories, especially ones with multiple partners or sex workers or relatives. The sex in the story is as safe or as risky as the author wants it to be, but all those commenters always seem to want to believe otherwise.

The reader is left with only positives: imagining the freedom to cum in her as deeply, copiously, and frequently as he might like, no need to hold back in any way, not worrying about what might happen. In fact, let it happen. Still only positives: she swells up, looks fertile. Boobs growing and leaking. Her belly cries out to his mammalian evolutionarily programmed brain that she is bursting with fecundity, just as he is swollen and ready to burst with the same life making purpose. I often wonder in harem stories how they manage to pay for multiple kids at the same time.

Jobs often seem like more of a hindrance to the story than something they'd still need to do.

Plain old incest isn't so taboo any more, at least in that category. It's lost its power to thrill, so they have to take it up a notch. After all, the risk of inbred pregnancy is the root of why incest is taboo in the first place. So to keep it on the edge, the risk has to be realized.

That is the essence of the stroke story - no consequences, no tension, no conflict (hence no plot) - just the happy guilt free fantasy. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that, but the folks who love reading these aren't really into reading. They just want their own happy fantasy told back to them, and if one of the details is 'wrong' the piece will likely get a downvote so stick to the formula dammit! For those of us who actually like to read a story, it would take a writer with a heck of an imagination and skill to hold our interest.

In the incest stories I've wondered if there is some element of getting caught/going public to it.
The MCs are doing something behind closed doors, no one ever needs to know... but if she's pregnant, now you have some explaining to do.
