PUT MORE ENERGY INTO JOB SEARCH

and spend less time on Lit and you might find a job. I know it's not easy and being here is more fun--an escape, but no one can do the job search for you. That's your responsibility. There are tons of resources out on the 'net. I was out of work for four months back in 2001. I checked internet sites every day and posted my resume everywhere I could think of. It's tough but not impossible. I don't know exactly what you want to do and where you want to do it, but here are some national links for job hunting. Sorry, I can't help you with the loneliness thing. Get your professional life in order and it will make sorting out the personal a little easier.

so sad that you hurt- again
I agree you need to focus energy on your job situation
simply trying rather than despairing is a start.

Hang in there, sweetie, things will turn around for you, just keep lookin till ya find the job that's right for you.

I know how it feels to be in a rut,
I feel pretty down most of the time myself,
Ive come to the conclusion over time that your personality creates youre environment not the other way around,
So the solution is to change youre energy somehow, and youre changes in the way you are as a person will begin to make youre suroundings better.
Ive decided on prescription anti depressants myself, exercise for the energy.
It seems to be more productive than drinking myself to death.

 well hope you feel better

Jen I care, I think you know that, but not being in the same area of country as you, I have no idea of a job. I know a whole lot of ppl have lost their jobs and even more to come. Hang in there sweetie. If you are that unhappy with your job, maybe you can change jobs, not necessary your dream job, but it might help just getting away from there and then you can concentrate more on finding the great job you want. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I feel pretty much the same as you about might job, but at this time there is nothing I can do about it. So I just try to take it one day at a time and try to keep optimistic that at least I still have a job.

Jen, is college for a different profession even a thought? I don't know what you do, but the stats on people who work in Human Services, certain members of the medical profession, cops, and firefighters/emergency workers have the highest burnout rates of all.

I am changing my profession for the third time and have gone back to college at the ripe old age of nearly 45. If I can do it then anyone can.

If you want to chat, just yell. I know what you are going thru and so do several others. You have my prayers.

HUGS JEN!!!!! You know I'm here for you!:)

WG.....thank you for for all the job search sites........I copied and
pasted the addresses and saved them on my computer so I can
use them. :)
It may look that I spend a lot of time on Lit, but I don't.....I hop
on the computer when I come home and when I wake up, and
I reply to each post (well, at least a good portion)---I've been on
Lit for two years this coming July 8 and amassed posts--but also
have looked on local job sites too and when I don't' see anything
I give up and look the next time.
Anyhow...thank you for the sites..........will look at them :)

i hate to say this, but the people and the environment at my job are
making me sad and angry at the same time, so its not always true
that my personality creates my environment. I have to hide the hurt
from the residents that I work with, and its bottled up inside.

I know you do, toni......I know you care.......
My friend who's getting married next month (the wedding I'm going
to be a bridesmaid in) has been out of work since Feb. '02, but
she has her degree in such a specialized area that in some cases at
interviews they felt she was "overqualified" (she got her Master's
overseas). Yes, at least I am thankful I do have a job, but what really
stinks is that when I graduated back 6 years ago the job market was
darn good, and now when I want to get out of where I am, it's hell :(

Just tryin' to take it one day at a time...*hugs*

I have thought about going back and taking a class in something
different but with my work schedule it does *not* allow for it :( Plus
I don't have the money for it right now------I have two weddings that
I'll be going to (I'm a bridesmaid in one next month...and flying out to
Colorado for the 2nd one in Oct.), I'm still paying off my college loan,
trying to pay down my credit cards (not easy), and other bills.

Oh yes...I knew that high rate of burnout in those helping professions
a long time ago.....that's why i never became a cop or a firefighter...

Will get in touch w/ you......thank you........*hugs*
