They hired a "trainee" named Dilpazier Aslam that turned out to be a writer for a rabidly Islamist group called Hiz ut-Tahir and put him on the terrorism beat without so much as mentioning that this guy thought the nail-bombers were pretty tuned-in guys.

When it was all exposed by a blogger, they refused to budge until the outcry became a flood. Then they gave the guy the choice of Guardian or Hiz ut-Tahir...and he chose the Islamist path.

Contrary to the Bush Admins. press releases the Iraqi insurgents and this latest wave of terrorism has very little, if anything to do with a threat or dislike for our values or bin Laden. These people could've cared less about us. Of course they thought we were a nation of greedy hypocrites, but they were not blowing our people up. What is happening today is because of the total voilation of treaties that ban infringing on sovereign nations.

Let me put it this way: The so called 'blue states' detest the Bush Admins., however if some foreign nation invaded our country under the guise of liberating us from his despotic rule (or any other guise, for that matter) we would all rise up as a nation to defeat this usurper.

That sort of thing just isn't done and America has a reputation for doing just that, when the mood suits us.

Besides, what is wrong with identifying the problems or underlying cause, I've always believed it is the only way to come up with an equitable solution for all involved. ??Es verdad???

I can understand your frustration Miles. It must be difficult for a thinking American to rationalise American military personnel killing women and children in cold blood to protect AmeriKKKan corporations as they carpet-bag Iraqi oil and other resources. Meanwhile, some of these corporations are working scams on the U$ government that is paying them to provide logistic support the war.

The evidence from the regime in the White House has acknowledged that there was no WMD threat in Iraq at any time. Tony Blah in the UK has admitted going to war on a one page note that was sparse in detail.

So moral American citizens cannot justify this illegal, imperialist invasion and occuptaion of a sovereign country.

Additionally, they have had their civil rights removed by the Patriot Act and Home Defense Act under false pretences, by an elected totalitarian government modelled on the worst of the Nazi era.

Perhaps the worst consequence is that these same corporations pay no domestic tax in America on their income earned in Iraq. Thus the poor ole taxpayer cops the entire cost of the war and gets none of the benefits.

Ray Bradbury wrote this script in Fahrenheit 451.

Sadly, things don't get any better. It is time for the U$ to withdraw NOW from Iarq and pay billions of dollars in reparations for their illegal, and immoral actions. THAT is the only way that peace will be restored in Iraq.
