I had only a couple of people on ignore in about 2 years. One was a political pitbull who liked to bait me, beyond the boards. (Gone.) The other was a PYL who PMd me over time, asking for advice in dealing with her sub. She invariably disliked my advice, and was really nasty about it. Yeah. I need that.

Those were no-brainers.

Then, a few months ago, a frequent visitor to the GB told me what a pleasant place it could be if you made some of the haters disappear. POOF! All the racist threads, the particularly nasty rightwingers, and a few others troglodytes were gone, and it was much more palatable to go over there and poke around.

I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to be invisible to my browser.

A little off topic, to be sure, but I think a lot of users feel that reporting is kind of moot, since this is a 'free speech board', even trolls are allowed to troll, maybe?

The GLBT board has more than its fair share of underage stuff, like "I sucked a cock when I was X years old, is that why I'm gay?" That kind of thing isn't allowed (you can use "younger" or "a long time ago" but not ages less than 18), and I can't possibly read every post of every thread, so I do like users to report when they can! Most of the reports I get are about spam, which I find quite helpful.

Lots of excellent people on the GB that can't really be found anywhere else.

A decent ignore list on the GB is like a decent air tank for deep sea diving. Makes the whole thing survivable and much more sightseeing than a fight for your life.
