45 minutes worth. I've been under so much stress for the longest time that my lower back, shoulders are in constant pain.. and my headaches have come back.

Does anyone here go on a regular basis? If this helps, I'm likely to go once every week or two.

:)

Also, does anyone here have reiki done on them? Am I misunderstanding that this is done without any physical touch?

reiki is done w/ little or not physical touch, ive heard some pretty awesome things about it, but i think you have to be pretty open, mentally, or spiritually for it to actually work..its some pretty serious stuff..

i go to the chiropracter fairly often, you get massages too when you go..its the best thing. i highly recomend it..

i like giving massages, but im no good at it.

That sounds nice. I hope it works for you. Sorry, can't help you with the Reiki. I've heard of it, but never had it.

I'm jealous! I would love a massage, but I'm too broke right now.

Reiki is awesome. I've only had it done once. I was so relaxed that I fell asleep before he even got finished, then afterwards, I felt energized for days.

I can massage. Only ladies, please. My session is normally for one hour, whole body. If I like you, it'll be three hours, with a few long orgasms. The trouble is, the queue is long for its a free service.

Can I watch? :p Better yet - can I help?? :D

I used to go about once a month when I had a job - then a chiro adjust right afterwards. Oh it hurt so good! And I don't like pain, but afterwards it felt so good to have all the kinks worked out, and it really helped the chiro be able to adjust me.

It can be really hard to relax when someone is working you over like a good massage therapist does, but it is much better when you do.

So reiki is like when someone is a healer.. I've had that done to me before, I know what ya mean about having to be a believer.

I don't want to go to a chiro.. I hate popping joints and the last time I wwent to one, he gave me a migraine. :( Massage is good enough for me, with a firm touch. My first ex used to give them to me all the time.. and the chiro briefly did it.. but I've never had a pamper massage by massage therapist. I'm looking forward to it :)

And leave it to you men to pervert this thread :p it's what I love about all yous.

yeah, i dont know to much about reiki.. cept for the fact that its energy based.. they say you can feel something, energy, in your body just loosening everything up.. and it comes out of you thru their hands, that arent touching you.. i wanna do it sometime.. your massage will be well worth the time and money spent.

I've gone several times, and should go more often. The deep tissue massage is perfect for me. I don't like the "light" touch (Swedish, I think) where it feels almost like you're being tickled. I want to feel strong hands working the knots out of my muscles. Hmmmm... a massage sounds like a good idea. Time to add it to my "to do" list.

i go about once a month and i love it. in fact, i'm going tomorrow! i wish i could go once a week...but it's way to expensive for a college student.

i don't know anything about the reiki, but i'll PM you with the name of someone who does.

Massage

The problem with reiki is you can simply go and pay for a weekend and qualify as a therapist, to do energy work I believe you need to be fairly clean yourself and not on a florence Nightingale trip. I don't feel comefortable paying for someone to do energy work unless they have proven themselves physically compitent first.

If you don't like having your joints popped opt for an Aromatherapy massage, this is basically soothing strokes, with perhaps some deeper work, depending on the therapists style.

Alternately try Thai or Shiatsu both involve some passive stretching and can leave you feeling great.

If you suffer from a lot of neck and upper shoulder tension, try standing to attention with your shoulder blades pushed back(not together) exaggerate the stance and hold it for three full minutes, repeat two or three times a day, also work on getting the shoulder joint mobilized,( You are probably doing this instinctively) by gently rotating the joint and stretching it in all directions.

finally rub yourself, squeeze your neck and shoulders and work around the occipital(base of skull) you will feel how hard to go and this can really relieve tension headaches before they get a hold(after it may be too sensitive)

Hiya Licky.....
I had my first professional massage last week for my birthday. It was fantastic. In fact, I liked it so much, I scheduled one for the first week of December as well.

I was warned the next day I may be slightly sore, and to drink lote of water, yadayadayada.......but I felt like a million bucks. No soreness at all.

I'm sure you'll love it. Enjoy~

Not because Licky is getting a massage, but I'm not the one giving it to her. She'd get the full treatment.
