Due to some fortuitous combination of results and the wonder that is mitigating circumstances, I have passed my first semester of my second year of uni. I was thoroughly expecting to get 20%, but instead got a solid 47.5%!

So I'm a happy drubnk! It's a nice change.

Please pardon my stupidity, but what does 20% and 47.5% mean? Apparently the grading system in England is different than over here in the colonies.

Oh yes, we do. In fact I did last year in a module or two. However I spent a good third of this module drunk and moping, so 47.5% is fantastic to me.

70% is actually a very good mark in a UK uni exam - our tests are very hard.
