Do you have to do much in the way of grooming? My friend has Maine coons and their coats, especially on their bellies, get impossibly tangled and matted.
He is the most huggable cat I've ever held! He's sooooo soft. And sweet-tempered. He's a "rumbler" and a head-butter...he purrs so loudly that you can here him from 10 feet away! It's hilarious! He does that chirping thing right along with it...sooooo cute! Luckily, he enjoys being brushed, cause I do him every day. He's not too hard to keep soft and tangle-free cause I have a very small and very sharp pair of scissors to trim the little matts out with. All of our kitties are cooperative except for one. Ever since she had kittens, she's become a real curmudgeon. <_< We have to have the vet's assistants brush and cut out her matts when she's under for her yearly teeth cleaning. Otherwise, the nurses would be covered in scratches and claw marks. She's like a tazmanian devil when touched with a brush or comb.

We are given these expensive cats as gifts from hubby's sis, and she's a wonderful lady - but I'd rather be adopting out from the pound. Gary refuses to get a pound cat. We have 6 kitties, so when a few of them have passed away, and we begin to consider a new kitty, I'm gonna bring one home anyway. He'll probably fall in love with it right away.
