WOW, just wow. I'm sorry unemployment has been screwing you over! I think it's not intentional, but unfortunately it is hurtful. I also hope you get that job that will pay $5k more than the last one!

I agree it's not intentional, but I still don't understand it. These people are swamped with unemployment claims. I don't think any of the unemployed people would turn down a temporary job to help with the overload.

It's rather ironic in a way. Those who work in the unemployment office have job security when others don't. Why would they want help with the work load? And it might sound hateful, but I wonder how many are working any faster now than when their work load wasn't as heavy. Maybe they need the scare of unemployment themselves.

I don't know how others have been handling the slow response but I know I wasn't the only person who lived check to check. And because it's a government office, I'm sure they are limited to how many they can hire for the job. With all of the news of states going under, hiring more employees isn't high on their list.

But, I was at one of the three city career centers last Friday. I saw four of the paid employees just standing around talking the whole time I was there. And trust me, it was a busy day. One or two could have handled their work load and maybe with a little training the other two could be moved from the career center to the unemployment office to help there.

I'm just thinking out loud...venting. I know there were probably times when all four employees were busy. But, it's just like road construction delays that seem to drag on longer than necessary. And when you drive by, there's always one guy working and three standing around talking.

It's good to hear that some of the knots are getting worked out for you DVS. Just the thought of being stuck in a situation like that is beyond frustrated, I can't imagine how hard it must be.

We're not in the 60s. I seriously think the justice system should stop sympathizing with blacks. It is no mystery that a lot of black people lie about being discriminated against. why can't the justice system see that? They often accuse of white people to be racists, when in fact the blacks are more racist recently. and can someone tell me why nobody will believe, including the justice system if a white person feels discriminated against? they have feelings too, you know.

All in all, this sucks. i hope you get over it.

So... several individuals at DVS' former workplace treated him nastily. And, this makes sense, because, as a whole, "the blacks are more racist recently"?

I had a problem with getting my unemployment a year ago......I was given one excuse after another by the unemployment people......again and again they said my info wasnt going in the computer correctly.....they were saying when they put my hours , the computer would delete my quarterly wages. I documented every call......18 total calls.....including date...time.. name of the person I spoke with......almost 3 months later still nothing and yet they assured me every call that I was entitled, I had even spoke with 2 supervisors and still not resolved.

Finally I got on the governors website and sent an email to him detailing what I had been going thru......the next day I got a call from a representative of the governors office who apologized for the trouble I had and took the details of my ongoing effort.......the next day he called me back and assured me the problem was taken care of........the following day I got a call from the unemployment people who apologized and told me all my back money was going in my checking account that night......next day there it was.....got a call from both the governors office and the unemployment people to make sure it was in my bank account.

Dont know if that will help you or not.........hope it does........its the only thing that got them processing my claim correctly.

Unfortunately there is a trend in society away from the noble and honourable ethics and towards a more corrupt system of ethics. Can't say I know where it began, tho' McCarthyism was certainly a catalyst.

I noticed it first in the 70's and have been tracking the developments ever since.

The prognosis isn't good.

As you say, some will try it once too often. But too many will get away with it to reverse the trend.

I don't know how people decide someone is a troll. I guess it's a catch all term for someone they don't understand.

I try to get along with everybody. Until someone is pissing me off, I live and let live. So, post all you want in here, as long as you don't piss someone off for no good reason. This forum is based on freedom of speech rights, but that doesn't mean we should use that freedom to be nasty.

Rumors? I don't listen to rumors (correct American spelling) of other people. Well, that is unless I know the rumors are true. I take things in stride and let accusations fall where they may. Unfortunately, I did that at my former job and the accusations became a bit harsh.

Some of your spelling tells me you aren't from around here. Are you from Canada or maybe the UK? I've heard that quite a few of the so called trolls come from places where they enjoy using the letter U. It's a wonder the word troll isn't spelled troull!

Considering that there are far more black people in jail than white people and that the justice system generally deals with them more harshly, I fail to see how it "sympathizes" with them.

Well, the difficulty with your caveats is there will always be someone who will say they've been offended in the manner you describe. Some people have remarkably thin skins and others simply use the accusation for political gain.

No one ever calls them on it. I'm sure you are familiar with being the target of misinformation for personal gain.

When it comes to bdsm, challenging the ethics behind a particular paradigm can produce similar results.

Canada, actually. Unlike America we embraced our British heritage and retained English spelling standards.

As for the source of trolls ... I think the Republican party has a factory somewhere churning them out by the bucket-full. Just look for those who think they're Ann Coulter .

I analyze the ethics behind the casual 'bdsm' paradigm, and find no ethical justification for the practice.

And thus far, none who advocate tolerance for the practice have managed to provide one.

I care not who is engaged in casual 'bdsm'. To me that is unimportant. Every person is free to make whatever choice they wish, with or without justification.

But for those who feel ethics matters when it comes to bdsm, more than a few have found it troubling that my challenge goes unanswered.

They are even more troubled by the immaturity of the advocates.

When we cannot even question the ethics of a practice which actively seeks to censor out all opposing views, one can only conclude that casual 'bdsm' requires a degree of fanaticism that denies any abuse, any fault, any problem and is capable of manufacturing any 'truth' required to sustain itself.

More than a few novices will choose a love-based bdsm where ethics matter over a practice that cannot justify its lack of ethics.
