Just curious about this...

If I want to "ignore" someone, would they have any way of knowing that they have been ignored? Or is it anonymous?

You mean do they receive a message that you're ignoring them? No.

What will happen is if you see a post by a person you have on ignore, you won't see the post, but you will see something like, "So-and-so's post is not visible because you have them on Ignore."

Any threads that they create will not be visible to you either.

Thanks.... what about PMs? Is their any indication that the PM is not coming through? Or if I ignore them, will it come through anyway?

I'm certain there's no indication to THEM, but I don't know if you'll see it in your inbox or not. If you want to see, you could put me on Iggy for a few minutes, and I'll send you a PM so you can see what happens. I'll post back here when it's done.

If you place a person on your Ignore List, all their posts will appear as "you have this person on ignore, to see this person's posts..." etc.

Any threads they start, you'll see the thread, but when you click on it, their post won't be visible, as noted above.

You'll still be able to see any words of theirs quoted by someone else. I find this useful if perhaps someone just annoyed you for a bit, now they've stopped talking about whatever it was offended you, etc.

Their PMs will not appear in your Inbox at all.

No board function will tell them that you have them on your Ignore List, and not even the moderators will know.

Unless you tell them or someone else, they won't be able to tell the difference between being on your Ignore List, and you just not replying to anything they say :)

All of this is correct except you will NOT see any threads they have made.

Also, when in a thread their post will be ''closed'' but has the option to view the single post if you want, or to remove them from your ignore list.
