If a woman raped you how would you feel? Do you think that emotionally it would be more traumatic for you, less traumatic, or the same as being raped by a man?

Published on 11/18/96, News-Sentinel (Ft. Wayne, IN)

Fort Wayne Police arrested a woman Friday in an October sexual assault and robbery. Victoria S., 25, was charged with criminal deviate conduct, robbery and sexual battery for allegedly attacking two 18-year-old women in an alley Oct. 22. Police said Victoria S. sexually assaulted one of the women and robbed the other at gunpoint while threatening to kill her. Police said Victoria S. was identified by the victims and subsequently confessed to the crimes.

As for me, personally it would be much more traumatic if it were a man in my case.

I think any violation would be very, very traumatic. Physically, I'm not sure...it would depend how I was raped, I guess, as much as by who.

Rape is rape, and it would be traumatic no matter who or what did it.

One of the great misunderstood myths of rape is that it's a sexual thing when actually is a anger/control issue using sex as the most harmful and degrading tool.

Any rape act is meant to hurt and possibly even emotionally destroy the person being raped and have control over them.

Incredibly well-put, PS.

Just as traumatic, but probably 99% more surprised, due to the fact that girl on girl stranger rape is a man bites dog story if ever one was.

Most rapists are men. Period.

I think it does not matter who does it, it is all equaly bad. I know women are as capable of sexual harassment and molestation as any man. I would imagene "Date Rape" happens more then I'd like to think about with the man as the victim, I mean men are just as capable of being taken that step to far when there not ready as women. As for forced sexual assualt, I MIGHT give you that being extreamly rare, but I would not call it a total anomaly

The fact that it's an anger/control issue doesn't change that it's a sexual thing.

I like a little bit of anger, and a little bit of control, but together...it just doesn't make sense.

It is traumatic

Let's just say its been 30 years and I still think about it everyday and I still have a great deal of anger towards this individual. I was just 14. No more details.

I had good counseling and good friends to turn to or I'm sure it would have twisted me far more. I didn't get that for five years, so my teen years were more awkward than necessary. Older woman/ young Catholic boy was not a dream come true. I often wonder if my other sibs had similar issues with her (a baby sitter) but it is a forbidden subject with them. Ironically, my mother chose this bitch to watch us because she was paranoid about child abusers! She died never knowing.

I am happy to have had a love that's now lasted decades. Still lots of fun in bed and plenty of fantasy games...but not that one.
