If you could bring back.......

one "item" from your past, what would it be?

Note I said "item" :)

My Mum's black Audi Quattro.... leather trim, skirts, alloy wheels. I learnt ho to drive it when i was 14.... damn that was a sweet car

My other Grandfather's watch.

I have been given watches that belonged to both my grandfathers. I still have one, which has been mentioned befoer because it sits on my desk.

My other Grandfather, who is still alive, was a bomber pilot during the second world war. One item of equiptment that is vital to flying, especially night flying before GPS, flight computers and at a time when the people you are flying over are unlikely to provided air traffic control, was a good watch.

This was the watch that my grandfather gave to me. I haven't got a clue what happened to it. But I wish I still had it. I've never had the heart to tell my Grandfather that I lost it.

two things... can't decide which I want more

one a chambray shirt with an octopus embroidered over the entire back... it belonged to my father. I know exactly where I lost it and it pisses me off when I think about it.

a sterling silver rosary given to me by my great grandmother when I was 9.

My last house I owned...... I miss that house, I loved it. My house now might be modern but it does not have the charcter the last one did.....

My 1969 Triumph Bonneville Motorcycle. sigh.. I bought it new and it was such a great bike. Alas I had to sell it when I moved away from home.

My Schwinn Spring Fork bicycle -- it was the two-wheeled equivalent of a Main Battle Tank, virtually indistructable and capable of going anywhere.

My sketchbook... Someone stole it at an artist party... I had given it to a guy to draw something in it while I was drawing something in someone elses and next thing I know he comes up to me asking where the book went...
It was almost full...

For me it would have to be........

My first St. Christopher..............I gave it to a girl who I met on the beach. She was on vacation with her family from New Jersey during the summer. We spent an hour or so talking, and she mentioned that she like the medal.........I untied the leather strip that held it around my neck and placed it on her. My grandmother had given me the simple gift seven years earlier when I turned eight years old. That very night.......I realized I missed it.

While I was living away from home in 1978, there was a major flood in the basement of my parent's home. That's where I had stored all of my notebooks filled with everything I had ever written. I can remember when my father wrote to me telling me what had happened - I felt kind of lost and very sad. I had some books that were very dear to me along with those things, too.

I wish I could have all of those things back. I know that is more than one item, but the boxes, as a whole, are one thing.

But, if you look at the bright side, all of the other things my family had stored there were not harmed. The rest of the boxes had been placed on shelves and were protected. The boxes that held my things were still on the floor.

Have a wonderful day, All.

one thing me to mind...

a simple stuffed white bunny that I bought at a school fair...

it wasn't just a stuffed bunny...

My 1953 Ford, flathead V8, 2 door coupe. That was the last year Ford made the old flathead engine. I restored and pampered that car. I had to sell it when I went into the Air Force. It was like losing my first love!
