I actually did experience that several years ago...she seemed broken up about my leaving...and even confused.

Ive had it happen to me, but more often I've had to help my female friends with it. Im like mr.shoulder to cry on to half the female population of florida, and it seems to me that its a predominantly male trait to test boundries like that.

regardless however its a severly immature and sucky thing to do to a person. and no they should not be surprised when they are kicked to the curb.

What gets me isn't how selfish some people can be, but how unskilled they are at it. You don't need to have a very big heart to not want to destroy a relationship that's good for you.
