why are the Health Insurance rates going to go up, and why do we even have to pay them.
Hell, why do we even need Health Insurance at all.
If it's free, it's for me, give me three.
Got to love liberalism.

Cloward-Piven

They have to destroy "BIG" insurance in order to create the panic that demands more government intervention and control. They want you to hate your insurance provider. It had to be the plan all along because the only other Damoclean explanation is pure ineptitude and stupidity because since its inception, those of us on the right interested in Economic truth told our friends on the Left exactly what was going to happen, but they had a Nirvana soundtrack running through their heads forgetting that it all leads to a Cobain stain on the parlor wall...

So do you have to pay more or is it free?

Because posting your ignore list every 48 hours proves you have the superior argument.

They were warned but Merc14, his libs, and a big segment of the Sheeple embarrassed themselves and told us we were all full of shit and that all would be well and good.:D:rolleyes:

Our costs would go down!

Sure, it pays for them when they're in the emergency room. When they could've been treated for a whole lot less if they'd been seeing a doctor for preventive care. And guess who pays for that expensive care through higher premiums.

AJ, this isn't rocket science. Even you can do the math. Heh.

"You cap your health care budget, and you make the political and economic choices you need to make to keep affordability within reach."
"And it's important also to make health a human right because the main health determinants are not health care but sanitation, nutrition, housing, social justice, employment, and the like."
"One over-demanded service is prevention: annual physicals, screening tests, and other measures that supposedly help catch diseases early."

Donald Berwick
Death Panel Czar

"The primary function of regulation in health care, especially as it affects the quality of medical care, is to constrain decentralized, individualized decision making."
Donald Berwick
Death Panel Czar

“Some years down the pike, we’re going to get the real solution, which is going to be a combination of death panels and sales taxes.”
Paul Krugman

When the costs go up they'll just deny it's happening or deflect the blame.

How do these people look in the mirror?

A bigger question is "When the shit hits the fan in 2014, an election year, how are the senate democrats going to react?"

I can't wait to hear their 'outrage' and their suggested (demanded) fixes.

The shit isn't going to hit the fan. They will not have to react at all. The shit has been slowly seeping through the fan since 2010 and will continue to do so as Obamacare comes into force.

Were the senators to decide they need to take 30% of all investment accounts over $100,000 tomorrow, in order to permanently fund Obamacare - 47% of Americans would be for it.

More truth in that than most would care to admit. You do realize that a trial balloon of that sort was floated back in the Clinton administration when Reisch suggested that all retirement and trust accounts be hit with a one-time 15% surcharge? The outcry was such that the idea was buried after 3 days or so.

Remember when Bush wanted to privatise all social security?

Yeah, just before the biggest economic crash since the thirties.

It is just as easy to argue that the crash would not have happened had the social security money been invested in stocks rather than in government debt.

Kraft Rulez 99: If all else fails, brag that you have your political opponent on ignore, cutting and pasting the ignore message, because that will prove that you have a superior argument!

Health insurance exchanges are the biggest affordability component in the ACA and they don't come online for nine more months. What we have right now are the cost-increasers (no dropping sick people or denying coverage for pre-existing conditions) without the primary cost-decreaser in place yet.

Why not wait until the law is online before trying to measure its impact?

Several insurance companies have just said screw it. Why deal with health insurance? Have cancelled their lines of health insurance.
