This idea comes from the paramedics and Firefighters in Copenhagen Denmark.

If you have a cell phone, they suggest that you put ICE (short for In Case of Emergency) in front of the name of your next of kin, thus making it easier to get in touch with them, if an accident should happen. If you have more than one person you want contacted, then they suggest you use ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 and so on.

The best thing about it, is that it's free, easy to do, and can make a difference if ever needed.

Please spread the word to friends, family, other forums and your blog if you have one.

*swoon*

I so adore a man who is concerned about the welfare of others.

Thank-you.

my father is an EMT and he had my mother, brother, grandparents, and i all do this a while back. its a great idea.

it really does work. i lost a family member a few months back and the police told us they had come across it on their mobile phone and known who to contact.

That's a great idea.

Of course first I have to figure out how to put the damned fucking numbers in this new stupid phone . . .

*grr*

If it's a cell just put the number in like you are gonna call them. Then, instead of hitting the call button, click your 'ok' button. You should get some options like 'save'.

Thanks! I'll have to try that.

If it doesn't work I'll get one of the kids to do it for me.

LOL.

Tackles you, drags you down and gives girlie hugs. Becca!

Seriously, Shyguy is doing a good service. Don't make me come down under to kick your pretty rear to make you put ICE on your phone. *well, actually, that kind of sounds fun*

Low pressure is expected to form offshore to the east of South Carolina early next week. This is going to set up solid surf for most spots in the Southeast and Florida regions but winds will be a problem through Tuesday. ESE/SE swell. Was decent this morning.

You better put your honey's number in there. I don't want anything to happen to you.

You're quite welcome

Btw. Where are you located in Australia? There's a chance I'll be there in about a years time.

Apologies ShyGuy , missed this post. BIG City east coast , harbour bridge, weird opera house and stuff. Please let me know if you do in fact make it out here.

Thanks for this Shy,

I have put this in front of my parents number. I never really thought about this before, other than the ES would be able to find them on my phone. What I never really thought about, I guess, is they would possibly see my ID in my married name & go straight to corresponding names on my phone - where they would find my less than useless ex!

You are such a thoughtful, sweet guy. I will do that immediately. Great idea but I don't know if Emergency Services here are aware of it. I will spread it around. Are you naturally this sweet and thoughtful or do you have to work at it.
