I wonder when people will learn that words hurt and if you choose to let them escape your mouth, stand by them with *name* and heart.

I wonder if people will soon realize that this is NOT the first terrorist attack we have been on the recieving end of. They happen all the time. This happens to be the worst, and most recent, but it is by far not the only. We have known what it is like before. We are shocked, and angry about it yes, but those reaction would happen to anyone, in any country, if this happened to them, in thier country.

Alot of people who live outside the US, mostly in the Middle East, seem to think that we feel we are above them. We are not. We are not invulnerable. We feel attacks just the same as they do. The difference is, we are larger and a bit more resilient towards these attacks. It is harder to make these attacks happen, especially of this magnitude. Some finally broke the barrier in a large manner, but we are not in any way feeling this for the first time.

If you honestly think this is the first time we have ever felt something like this, please take your computer, and do something usful for yourself, like look up US History in the last 30 or 40 years.

As somebody who lives close to the common perception of the IRA I feel i must agree with Gilly. These things should not happen to anyody anywhere. Also I must point out to Gilly that it's not the IRA as everyone tinks but "The Provisional IRA" or the "Provo's" who do the bombings and killings in mainland Britain or Ireland (North or South).
