Yes - even though here in the States (as in some other countries) we have protectional laws that aid 'us' regular folks from having our privacy abated - 'they' - they big boys who really run the show - can listen or look into any one of us, at any time they want to.
How? How can any of our leaders stand in front of a podium and say "we aren't peeking and prying at our own people? Never."
It's easy - "they" (our leaders, our spys) don't - spy on us. Our friends do. And we do it for them too.
We spy on Brits - 'for' the Brits. And they do the same for us. We spy on Canadians - and they do the same for us. Brits and Canadians both 'spy on our US folks' on US soil. And we do the same for them.
Been that way for years and will be that way for a long time.
"They" can get around just about any human rights issue they want to. Which they do all the time.
A fact of our lives.
