I was looking for "Ford GT40" and found...

Cool, Stella. I've had a couple of MGBs and friends had Austin Healey 3000, bug eye Sprite, MGTD, Triumph Spitfire's and such. Maybe I can find all those and take a trip down memory lane.

Oh, i wish, jomar.

This site, anyway, only has what you see on that page-- I looked for an MG A, no luck.

Great, Stella!

Reminds me of when I was little. My dad used to make me toys from cardboard and paper; cars, trucks, tractors, machines, all kinds of great things. I liked them better than "real" toys.

Thanks

Neat, though the "Spitfire" at the Lithuanian site is actually an Austin-Healey "Frogeye" Sprite (the Spitfire was made by Triumph).

I really got off on a tangent yesterday, looking at paper toy sites, when I started out researching cars! I've always made cardboard and paper constructs, and my son was really good at it when very young. I have a 3D t.rex that he made out of paper at age nine... ;)

Oops! It's been a loooong time...

I drove a Spitfire back in the '70's, but never a Sprite.
Frogeye-- Is that what I've always called a "bugeyed" Sprite?

That model of Sprite was usually known as Frogeye in the UK, but maybe not elsewhere (one of my schoolteachers used to have one back in the 60s). Later models were essentially the same as the MG Midget (and generally known as the "Spridget" ;) ). Always thought the Spitfire was a beautiful car, if (like most British sports cars) a bit delicate-looking!

Thanks Stella! I will be printing some of these out for my origami-inclined son. The original site has some that are wonderfully complex. That should keep him busy for a few moments anyway. Once again, Stella-land is a happy place. :rose:
