I want to date my insurance agent

I have a little crush on my State Farm agent.

And I've gotten hints he is interested in me, but he hasn't asked me out.

So my question is:

Are there regulations about insurance agents asking out their clients?

Or going out with their clients if the client does the asking?

He just might not be interested in me, which is usually the case . But if he is prohibited from asking out his client (me!), then maybe I can make a move?

From experience, i would definetely make a move first. Even if it turns out that he's not into you, then you'll know. It's worth a shot, because if he is into you, then y'all can have a whole lotta fun. And i dont believe there is any rule about agents dating their clients.

Yeah, that's what I'm most worried about, the wierdness.

It seems like he's the type of guy who wouldn't be afraid to ask out a girl if he was interested.

I agree, and to me this would show that the guy has at least some respectability (though it's hard to make a judgement from here )

But I don't have any problem with NaiveOne making the first move or him accepting if he so decides. I don't think this would be a problem unless NaiveOne has some sort of huge account with the insurance company. If you're talking about basic auto and/or homeowners/renters insurance, it's no big deal.

Geez....size again.

As a grad student, I definately DONT have any huge accounts with him.

True, I guess insurance agent isn't quite as personal as some other professions.....

naive one: so ask him if he wants to get a drink some time. it's pretty straightforward. make clear that this would not be a business meeting. maybe you call him to confirm details on your policy, and after all that's settled, you could say, "now that we're done talking shop, maybe this would be a good time to ask if you'd like to get together for a drink" or something like that?
