I want no one to meet thier demands and . . .

I want baseball to die and . . .

I want hockey to follow suit, then football and basketball and curling and golf.

OK take it easy cowboy, the players won't strike and hockey will always exist, they play it all year round, and they all make the playoffs,
that leaves the one tru sport, FOOTBALL

I want northamerican football gone too.

we can keep european rugby/football as long as they don't bastardize the rules once its brought over here.

my biggest qualm with northamerican sprts is the time outs.

most games are divided out of an hour

football basket ball 4 1/4's for 60
hockey 3 periods for 60 minutes

yet all these take a minimumu of 3 1/2 hours to broad cast.

I hate their ability to play 30 seconds then take a 5 minute time out

Well... You could lose North American football and not lose much.

But we must keep curling - it's just too strange to give up

And minor league baseball - even if just to get wonderful movies like Bull Durham (A friend lived in a house in Durham like Susan Sarandon's and the old Durham Bulls ballpark was what makes minor leage baseball great. And warm summer nights with little kids running around, a hotdog and peanuts and a beer, the smell of a ballpark, young men in tight pants....

you are all entitled to your opinion but you are wrong. The timeouts are the most important part allowing me to go to the bathroom in the final seconds so I don't get too excited and make a mess on the couch.

The horror...the horror....!

You call yourselves Americans, and you want the national pastime to die without a fight!

yeah somebody sounds kinda bitter.

they won't strike. I think it is all stupid. I love to play baseball but it is a game that will never die in the sandlots and cul de sac's where every kid has a wiffle ball and bat. I went to a game recently and saw a grandsalm, tht doesn't happen much but at that moment, the Yard went insane, and every O's fan yelled out collectively, baseball will never die.

Baseball is in the toilet. I would say football comes a lot closer to the American Sport now. Baseball is more rapidly becoming the Japanese sport.

even better was when marty cordova hit a 434 foot shot into straight away deep center. it was like a cannon shot.

I have to say that I love foot ball, in fact I follow it more than baseball but Baseball is the past time, not football. I think that football apeals to me more because I like battle history and football is like watching two generals battle it out in real time. Rommel and Montgomery or Gibbs and Parcels?

As George Carlin said, Baseball is a 19th century pastoral game, while football is a 20th century technological struggle. I think the latter is much more in keeping with America today.

i have to say it.....

if the players go on strike three times, are they out?

Based on the last couple of weeks I have my doubts baseball will strike.. I think both sides know that there is nothing to gain and a lot to lose (fans and money) with a strike or lockout.

Dare I say they just might be...

Although again I could be getting my hopes up for no reason. This entire season I seem to think baseball overall or my team (Blue Jays) just may be taking a step in the right direction but then screw up in a big way somehow.

I get the sinking feeling all this talk may be for not, but I hope thats not the case.
