.... to be the "Official Contest Support Thread Starter"

Simply put....
I don't think that contests are the same without this wonderful man's posts to help/kickusinthepants/encourage/runthelastplacecontest/etc

And that simply.... is my position on the matter.

does it matter who starts the threads? Nah, it's who participates that really counts.

But Og is great at encouraging and he helps makes the support threads so, well, surportive :p

Hmm?

As English Lady said above, it doesn't matter who starts the thread, it is the participation that counts.

I only took over these threads when Tatelou stopped doing them because she had more important things to do, and there were others who ran support threads as well.

A competition support thread would die if there wasn't a general willingness in the Author's Hangout to encourage ourselves and others to participate in contests.

I admit blame/shame/whatever for introducing the Last Place (tm) Contest to the AH. I felt and still feel that every time there are contest stories that have unrecognised merit. Winning a Last Place Award is something to be proud of and celebrate. After all, you have put in your claim and see how you compare with the rest of us. If you want to hide your light under a bushel, all you need do is keep quiet about your rating.

Entering a contest can be a rough ride for a new contestant. These threads try to make each of us feel that we are not alone in watching our votes and ratings hourly and being hurt by adverse PCs or feedback, balanced by the appreciative and helpful comments of not just our colleagues but complete strangers. Anonymous can be kind.

Now get back to thinking about or planning or writing your Halloween entries - and don't forget to claim the Last Place for Nude Day.

PS 'So supportive?' I sound like a foundation garment.

You know, sorta-ish along the lines of lilred's "Sock Love," the idea has merit: a male bra (or female, given your preference), tormented by his "job," longing to possess his wearer, angry when she picks another foundation garment over "him," torturing her because he loves her, leaving his "twisted" "mark" on her skin one day and supporting her without fail on another ....

Imagine the longing. ;)

There are at least three adult Yahoo Groups about transformation of a man into feminine clothing and what happens next - with illustrations. (Once I was a man...)

My story 'Miranda the Witch' covers some of those areas.
