I need to know what State province, country you live in

The minimum wage where you live

and the average cost of a cheap apartment that isn't a slum.

thanks in advance

<disguises her voice electronically> *Ahem.*

Wisconsin.

$5.15/hr.

Um, don't know.

Michigan

No idea on minimum wage although most salaries around here are very low in general.

Don't know about rent either, in Marquette they're $300-$450 due to it being a college town. My mortgage payment is only $210 and that includes escrow for property taxes! (1400 sq ft on 1.5 acres just in case you think is some kind of cheap shithole)

Tennessee

Min. wage ~ not sure around $5.35 although most places start out at $6. or above

I have a 3 bedroom house and it's running $350. a month, but I used to have a 2000 sq. ft house on 4 acres and it only ran $475. a month.

Nova Scotia, Canada here where the minimum wage is $5.80/hr. We still have bastards that pay less, claiming people to be inexperienced.

Hmm....a cheap apartment here really depends on the geographically location. If you're on the outskirts, the rent tends to be lower. In the so-called city, rent is a bit more and you get a lot more slumlords. A one bedroom apartment in my area can run from $275-$400, depending on what's included. Go into the more "developed" areas and you're looking at $375-$600, again depending on what's included. The lower rental amounts do not include any utilities and are usually electric heat.

I've dealt with my share of slumlords in one of my previous jobs. They make their rental amounts what the maximum allowable provincial assistance payments are according to family size. Slimeballs pricks...but that's just my opinion

Connecticut here,

Minimum wage is I think 5.95

Things are expensive as hell here, a ok apartment that is two bedroom here would run you about $600 a month and I live in a cheap town.

Chewey

They did a survey in Danbury Ct that came back saying that you had to make at least $18 an hour to live there.

Ft. Pierce, Florida

Minimum wageis $5.25 or so.

The best you'll do on an apartment, as far as I have seen, is about $500 a month.

Oregon.

I'm not sure what minimum wage is. I think $5.15. If not, then it's really close.

Cheap apartment that's not a slum? In my area, about $500/mo.

Er, that should have been $550 a month.

So. Oregon

Min. Wage $6.50

A decent 1 or 2 bedroom and 1 bath, can run you anywhere between $400-$550

I got lucky. I am renting a 2 bd/1bath house for $500

A lot different then paying almost $800 a month for a 1 bd. apt. in So. Calif. where I am from.

Damn, $6.50? Shows you how long it's been since I've worked for minimum wage. :)

Or worked outside the home at all. Hmph. :(

Georgia

5.25 I think

Apartments can vary from 200 on up dependent upon the normal variables. For a one bedroom you could probably expect something close to 300 in a good neighborhood.

Hope this helps, ask if you have more questions.

Chicago.

Don't know the minimum.

I'm paying $1500 for a nice place with one bedroom.

Then don't move to Labrador...
Minimum wage: 5.75
Apartment: a nice one bedroom will start at 500 and work it's way up...utilities NOT included and the cost of living is atrocious. Where else on the planet are you expected to pay four dollars for a head of lettuce??

After reading some of these people I am moving too.

Texas-Dallas area

5.15/hr

We pay 825.00 a month for a three bedroom home!

I'm in Northern Michigan..

minimum wage is $5.25
the average apartment around here...about $4-600 depending on how big you want it

However it is cheaper here just to buy rather than rent...the average house around here, usually needs a little bit of work, not much but runs under $50,000 or so and most come with acreage
