I need some help on story title ideas

It's odd how some of my stories go in directions I don't expect. Anybody else have that problem? Anyway, the story started as one of my "How To Ruin A Perfectly Good <blank>" ideas, this one being "Wedding Dress." The idea is a newlywed couple with dreams of adding more people to their bedroom decide to have 2 guys tear the wedding dress off her whilst doing all the naughty things. But, of course, the real wedding dress costs a boatload, so they get a second dress, a cheap slutty thing.

So now the Title is "The Second Wedding Dress" and that's fine, it's no longer as "Perfectly Good" story, but as I write it I get invested with the characters and I want to keep going, so I'm sketching out he further adventures of Noah and Wendy - honeymoon cruise, back home and adding to their play partners, do they hookup with swingers, does she get a bull, does he get a pet, yadda yadda yadda.

I want to name each chapter after a dress. The First Wedding dress is prologue and character development, The Second Wedding Dress is the one that gets shredded and is the hotty hot stuff. The Sun Dress is on the honeymoon cruise, so is The Little Black Dress (maybe - might save that for a party somewhere down the road.) Then Pencil Skirt (something at her office), Mini Skirt (friends get-together, the girls wearing those butt plugs with furry tails, etc,) Bridesmaids Dress, The Apron, The Babydoll, The Party Dress, etc.

I've got enough story ideas to keep me going for years (since I am deadly slow) but I don't have an over-arching series name. The best I have is "Well Dressed." Maybe 'Well Undressed." But that doesn't thrill me.

So I wrote that short novel to ask you fine folks - got any good ideas for me? I know the chapter titles, but what do I call the book?

Thanks,
CS

Well...

The dullest (and thus possibly best by inversion) idea imaginable would be to just go with "Noah and Wendy" like:

Noah and Wendy: Wedding Dress
Noah and Wendy: the Second Wedding Dress
Noah and Wendy: Pencil Skirt
...
Noah and Wendy: Latex Gloves

I mean, the overall title doesn't need to be in agreement with the clothes theme, it can be something seemingly completely unreleased or pointing to some other overarching element, just reasonably short for purely technical reasons.

Or perhaps make up an insane word... Unseamstrers?
(Sorry, I don't speak English.)

It might be over on Writer's Resources. I recall reading a really good article on Lit titles a few years back, which suggested that simply using names did little to draw in the intended audience, as they convey so little about the plot, or the actual characters, beyond their names. So I would stay away from the "Noah and Wendy" approach for that reason. Which is not to say that the use of subtitles might not make it work- with the main title holding it together for readers.

Maybe "Undressing Wendy" or "Wendy Undressed"?

And, to answer your initial question, most f my stories decide to go off on their own paths. I envy the posters who advise writers to decide on an ending and write toward it - even if I try that, I usually end up somewhere else.

How do you like:
"Wed Wendy Ch. 03 - The Party Dress "
Which is one character short of the title limit, so "Little Black Dress" would be too long, it would need to be "Black dress".

Perhaps some type of play on words such as.........
"Dressed for Suckcess" or
"Dressed to Thrill"

Some additional thoughts ....
Dress Code
Dress Rehearsal

Y'all are the best

I had not considered the character limit. My previous chapter stories had very short titles and I never even knew there was a limit. So the limit is 35, yes? If so, then...

Dress Code 01: First Wedding Dress
Dress Code 02: Second Wedding Dress
Dress Code 03: Two Party Dresses
Dress Code 04: Sun Dress
Dress Code 05: Little Black Dress
Dress Code 06: Mini Skirt
Dress Code 07: Pencil Skirt
Dress Code 08: Babydoll
Dress Code 09: Bridesmaid Dress
Dress Code 10: Anniversary Dress

Chapter 2 hits 35 and the rest are shorter.

I liked Dress Code already, and the length thing cinched it.

Now I gotta go write this shit. Chapters 1 and 2 are maybe 80-90% Chapter 3 is maybe 20%, and after that it's just a couple of sentences for each. I'll need to release the first three at one time since they are fairly contiguous. 4 and 5 are the honeymoon but that can wait. After that the time span increases, and I'm so damned slow it might be years before I get there.

I'm actually having some fun again. For a few yeas now, this little hobby has been a chore. It used to be a release, then it became a drag. Then I lost a lot of my best work about a year ago and that really killed my passion. But Noah and Wendy might bust me out of that funk.

Thanks everybody! You da best!
