HELP!

I installed a program for my kid to play with a kids version of a digi cam. This program is now what the computer uses to open all pictures when they are clicked on. The program has been removed, but now when a picture is clicked on, it says it can't find that program.

How can I set the default to a specific program for automatically opening pictures?

Also...how do I remove shit from the area next to the clock? I really don't care to have 12 things down there that I never ever click on. (IE--realplayer)

Thanks in advance.

We got the picture problem solved now--still trying to get rid of the excess crap in the lower corner.

Any tips are wanted.

Open Mydocs, and click View/Folder Options.

On the File types tab, find the files youwant to change the "association" for -- the files associated with your kids picture program -- and click edit.

Replace with file name of the program you want to open the files with. (see file associations in your help menu.)

For real player specifically, right click the real player icon in the system tray, and select preferences. On the general tab, click settings next to "start center" and clear the show start center box.

(Also check the preferences or options sections of your image processing program. Paint Shop Pro can change grab the file association for image files away from the default program, and return it without resorting to the folder options menu.)

For other stuff in the system tray, some needs to be there because the program is running in the background and will otherwise show up as a window label in the status bar. (My virus protection program and DrWatson are like that.)

For others, check each program's preferences to see if there is an option for displaying an icon in the system tray you can turn off. For other programs, see the help menu re: adding/removing items from the system tray.
