I need a comparison...

JL, I think you could use more "medieval" or "fantasy" comparisons for her glow by comparing the progression of the glow to a day's progression of a Dwarven Forge's heat and light -- Dull banked glow in the morning, stoked and fueled to a bright heat as they prepare for the work day, pumped up to a blinding inferno by the bellows, etc.

The "White Heat" of iron being worked in a forge was the brightest artificial light known to mankind for centuries -- until the invention of gas mantle lighting (in the 18th century in Europe, IIRC.)

Its a good idea WH but it doesn't fit... Forge heat is always yellow to me, even when something is white hot, and suggests the sun. Her power is from the Moon.

Well, the only thing left for a comparison without introducing anachronisms is a full moon over a snowscape as the brightest "white" light that might be known. A full moon and fresh snow is almost bright enough to cause snow-blindness, but she's apparently getting much brighter that mere snow-blindness.

I did forget one natural light source that is bright, white, and has been known -- and feared -- since mankind became mankind; Lightening! Lightening is prety much THE brightest light known even today but it doesn't work well as a comparison for a contiuous glow; nor is it very "moon-like."

Yep, brief -- VERY brief and destructive -- power in a medieval/fantasy context...

There's a reason why most pantheon's assign the moon and moonlight to a (genrally) peacful female Diety and assign Lightening (and Thunder) to a capricious, (generally vicious) male God.

Yay! I'm trying to keep it within the WoW universe while explaining it as if the reader has never been there, hope I'm getting the balance right!

I might have to re-write the first part as its going in a slightly different direction from when that was written.
