Lead poisoning?
Starvation?
Hypothermia?
Exposure?
Are you kidding?

Include me out, thankyouverymuch.

Well, I also would've liked to have been with the Donner party, so I'm a bit off.
I blame it on reading Tristan Jones books at too early an age.

When I was very young, my father showed me a tinned Christmas pudding that was a sample of the supplies sent on the Franklin Expedition. The tin was sealed with lead and would have been opened with a strong knife cutting the lid.

As far as I remember (it was over six decades ago) the top of the tin extended about an inch over the lower part. The lead seal was on the side of the tin on the edge of the overlap, so would not have been disturbed when the top was opened. BUT - the seam of the tin was soldered with lead.

At that time, most household water supplies were plumbed with lead piping. Almost everyone had lead in their bodies from the water.

I've lived in a house with absestos siding for the last 15 yrs so lead is the least of my worries.

As long as the asbestos (or lead) is undisturbed it is no threat.

It's all chipped and busted up.
I also have wood heat only and use a road culvert for a chimney.
And I have no septic system.
Don't even ask about the electric.
But I can walk out my back door and walk ten miles through forest before reaching anything.
