It was a country song all about why we shouldn't protest the war... that we should think back to 9/11,,back to the men and women who gave their lives for this country, and refuse to back down from a danger and evil in Iraq for America.

Has anybody else heard this song? What's the name of this song and who sings it; I want to write someone a nasty letter for infering that I'm unamerican.

I think someone posted a song like that in the Lit radio thread a while back.
Though I can't be a 100% sure.

I haven't heard the song yet, but I have heard that some radio stations in the US won't play it because it's "Pro-War".

We're doomed.

i'm not going to be a lot of help but the song you're probably thinking of is fairly new and by someone not mainstream. it's something like "don't you remember". they play it of the station i listen to all the time and when i hear it i'll write it down and get back to you.

Emerald, niether of those songs are it...

I don't mind patriotic songs; it's one particular song that clearly relates the idea that if you don't support war with Iraq, you aren't American. I think it had something like "Have you forgotten?" in the refrain.

YES! That's it!

Is this the one?

Darryl Worley - Have You Forgotten

I hear people saying
we don't need this war
I say- There's some things
worth fighting for.

What about our freedom?
and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep them
by backing down.

Now they say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
But before you start your preaching, let me ask you this my friend:

Have you forgotten how it felt that day,
To see your homeland under fire, and her people blown away?
Have you forgotten how those towers fell,
We had neighbors still inside going through a living hell?
And you say we shouldn't worry about bin Laden-
Have you forgotten?

You took all the footage
off of my TV.
Said it's too disturbing
for you and me.
It'll just breed anger-
that's what the experts say.
If it was up to me,
I'd show it every day.

Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
but after 9-11 I'd have to say that's right.

Have you forgotten how it felt that day
to see your homeland under fire, her people blown away?
Have you forgotten how those towers fell-
we had neighbors still inside going through a living hell.
And you say we shouldn't worry about bin Laden-
Have you forgotten?

Now I've been there with the soldiers
who've gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
just what they're fighting for.

Have you forgotten all the people killed-
some went down as heroes in that Pennsylvania field.
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost, and those left to carry on.
Don't you tell me not to worry about bin Laden-

Have you forgotten, how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire, her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
That we had people still inside going through a living hell.
And you say we shouldn't worry about bin Laden-
Have you forgotten?

I guess it wasn't this one then...

*Sigh* No, I actually like *this* song. The other song was out right pro-war and condecending. "Where Were You" isn't pro-war.

I think it's safe to say we won't find this on the internet; we'll have to wait until Unclej calls his local country music station.

i just found it and was gonna post it but i really don't want to be a goddess. ok?

Oh wow! 3 goddesses doing his bidding...
What a lucky bird ;)
