I have.........

I have managed to get out of the house to write. So, I'm going to log off and do just that!

I have been conducting a campaign against the snails that infested my small front garden. My grandson proudly planted four marigolds. They were eaten within 24 hours and had to be replaced with duplicates.

I bought some snail and slug killer, guaranteed safe for children, pets and hedgehogs and applied it liberally in two sessions a week apart. Within the last ten days I have removed 480 dead snails, 40 of them this afternoon.

The replacement marigolds are still surviving.

My back garden has fewer snails and slugs because the population is reduced by the activities of the resident hedgehog, grass snake and toads.

I'm watching for more snails. I have enough snail and slug killer for three more applications...

I have - a new MOT (Annual roadworthiness certificate) on my high-mileage Volvo Estate.

So both of them passed within 10 days with no remedial work necessary. The older Volvo (20 years old in August) has done 100,000 miles less than the one that passed today.

Even if the high mileage one only lasts another year, that is cheap motoring.

I have had a brief John sighting! :nana:
I have done the washing-up.
I have checked my work email.
I have found half a bar of inferior chocolate in the biscuit tin but it will do

I have been (trying) to go organic, gluten free, and sugar free.

Doing all three at once is going to be a problem. Thy cutting back on portion size and cutting the sugar out first. Then start on the organic and gluten free.

Is there a problem so you have to do this or is it just something you want to do?

I have gotten a lot of work done today and am taking a mini-break with you all.

At last!
:nana:

I have the ultimate accolade. A report from the University saying my marking is aberrant ... because it's too low! After all those years of getting regular reports saying my marking is so much higher than other tutors and it's all my fault. :D

If only I had realised that all it would take would be getting a cohort of students from one of the poorest and most deprived parts of Britain.

:nana:

Congrats? :D

I have got to clean up the house before I start a new writing project that will cause me to ignore everyone and everything in said house.

I have a pink beribboned flogger ;)

Forget the house! Write write write!

I have been transferring files from my old Windows XP computer to my new-to-me Windows 7 one.

It is longwinded and boring, but I have managed to sign in to Literotica from the new one.

Of course I installed security features first. My software is checking all files as they are copied, and again when they are added to the new computer. So far everything is clean - except my stories. ;)

Ogg, I have a question for you:

Did you buy that computer from the site you recommended to me last time I was asking about buying a new laptop? I'm thinking of going and looking on there to see if there are any good toughbooks.

I will have a little clean round for you if you like! in a French maid's uniform  *flicks feather duster*. Oh sorry! did that tickle?

I have had a PM asking me to be someone's online submissive! :D

Unfortunately I have had breakfast already.

No. I bought it from a local, long established computer shop that I have been using for 20 years. I was going to buy from (the pirate/lieutenant governor- to avoid advertising on Lit) dealer, but what I have was slightly cheaper with a better specification and I can take it back to them if I have problems.

I might still buy another from the (pirate) shop to replace my other Windows XP machine IF I am convinced I need it. Currently there are three desktops (2 x XP; 1 x W7) and a laptop (W7) connected to the internet, with a second XP laptop in reserve. For the two of us, two Windows 7 computers SHOULD be enough. ;)

Edited for PS: I have been using the (pirate) shop for 30 years satisfactorily because I understand what they are selling. They sell secondhand, reconditioned, or slightly out-of-date equipment that is adequate for my needs, but wouldn't suit a dedicated gamer.
