...White Knight complex...Whatever you want to call it. I hate it when friends and loved ones are facing problems. I want to solve all those problems, but I know I can't and it annoys the fuck out of me. It's very hard for me to just sit back and be part of the support system, but I know I have to. Anybody else feel this unrelenting pressure to save the day?

Sometimes I do...

I have a great girl friend that's going through something unbelievably horrible at the moment. Something that I could never hope to understand and hope that I'll never have cause to.

I wish that I could hug her tight and tell her that it will be okay.. but the best I could do was offer her a place to come and visit if she needed to get out of town.

Umm...where did you find that pic?...Not my best shot...

Hillbilly Deluxe...sounds like you understand...:)

me, I just go out and start saving, you know? It comes easy, I'm well armed and highly trained, skilled in about a million diffetrent trades...I can do someone's taxes, rebuild their car, or tutor them in Calculus...and I usually do.

I think that it's a guy thing.

I'm sure it is...I have spent hours trying to explain it to a woman...she didn't get it...and then I was annoyed that I couldn't even explain what was annoying me...

My husband's friend from childhood has a hero complex. Always had to be the 'good guy', or cop when they played games, always had to 'save' the damsel in distress, etc.

Back in the spring, he shipped off for the Marine's, and his goal is rather modest.

He told us he is never coming back, because he plans to die a 'heros' death in combat.

You too?

I know the guy, and it frightens me that someone has now given him a gun.

Hey, better to kill someone trying to defend their own country than you next door neighbours or wife and kids.
