I am trying to submit a story written with Microsoft Word, version 2010 that contains several phrases written in italics and want to maintain the continuity of the page. I first tried submitting in the same 'Word' document format with which I write but got an error message saying Literotica did not accept that format. Then I tried submitting a 'Word 97' doc and it took it but the preview showed it all jumbled up. After that I tried, 'Webpage filtered,' which I have to used for another publishing source, that didn't work either. Next I tried to copy and paste, but when I looked at that, I lost the italics.

According to Literotica's guidelines, I should submit under a .docx file but my Word documents are not labelled that way. Can anyone tell me what format should be used to submit a story with italics.

Thank you.

''I have a question I'm hope someone can help with''

...so you're a writer, huh?

if you copy and paste the italics need to be prefixed with and then closed with

also, try the authors' hangout with writing-related questions. you might find yourself floundering with this in the GB.

There's no one in the Starbucks you're in who can help with this?

Your title thing says pet. Where's your leash? Your cage?
Roll over and let us rub your belly.
you ask some very good questions! where is my leash? my cage?
if nobody strokes me today i may pee on the rug in protest.

I take it you've already tried saving it as a .docx file in WORD 2010?

I will stroke you. If that is what you wish to call it.
On your back! Spread'em!

Try a straight cut-&-paste into the submission form. Use of italics will slow down the approval process.

Wow!

I asked a question hoping for a little help; instead I was ridiculed for a typo. I think you have all helped me to decide to forget about submitting work to this site at all.
Thank you all for your help.

thinnest skin ever!

we will cry at your parting.

To answer your question...

Yes, with a full length book and over forty short stories published, I guess you could say I'm a writer. I was frustrated when I started this thread, hence the typo. As for being thin skinned...not at all; I just don't have time for bullshit and realized from the postings here, that this site full of it; therefore, I have decided to forget about submitting.
Thanks again.

The name Literotica is a little misleading, I agree. It really ought to be called LITERARYerotica, because the emphasis is firmly on erotic literature within the absolute constraint of correct grammar.
Sorry you misunderstood.

Don't even think about ending a sentence with a preposition. You'll be shat on. Sorry, wait: You will be the one upon whom shits will be taken.

No, thank you for not submitting your pedo snuff stories here. You've done us solid alright.

Good thinking. You really deserve a publisher who can fully appreciate your talent.

In case someone wants to know that is what I did. I copy and pasted the text onto the submission form. I didn't have italics so I can't answer that part of it.

I hate books that aren't full-length. All those blank pages! So wasteful.

you may be a writer - but learn to read more and you would have seen this wasn't the forum to post your question. and you also appear to have missed genuine help offered, despite that, from another author within a couple of posts of your question. i'll quote it below for you:

if you copy and paste the italics need to be prefixed with and then closed with
