Awwwwwwww lovey! The exact same thing happend to me when I was a student...I was on my last page of a 15,000.00 word assignment that had taken me months to research and write - and the computer had a tantrum and deleted the file. I ran downstairs to the technowhizzo room and managed to find a computer brain. I was shaking, tears were welling up - and he stood there - going "well, why didn't you - blah, blah, blah..." like was a fool...they had to call security because I began shaking him. 
In the end though - I calmed down - and bless him - he found the file and restored something...anyway - he made it all better. I've loved computer nerds ever since...
Hope all goes well finding the paper...there's a LONG line of morons when it comes to computers...so, you won't be alone.

I usually refer to myself as computer challenged. And that's on a good day.
In fact, I realized today, after a phone call from work, that I had forgotten that our tech people were coming to upgrade our computers.
Of course being half asleep when he called this morning asking for my passwords, I blurted them right out to him. And being in such a rush yesterday to leave work early, I forgot to copy a few stories, files, pics that I had hidden there.
I'm sure he had a great time if he started browsing through some of it. Can't wait to get to work tomorrow.
