You didn't say before where you were located, and I can see where your circumstances increase the cost. My point was more about the relative cost between the big names and the more generic monitors.

The Sony I looked at had some features I liked, (a built in USB hub, for example, so you don't have to crawl under the desk to plug something in,) but nothing worth nearly three times as much money.

Also, the local "mom & pop" computer store is not the only way to buy a monitor -- you do have web access, yes?

Yes, I do have web access, after all, I am here. I have looked into ordering a PC online, my new PC is one I am ordering online.
The price is only a little bit cheaper.

Even if I order from the USA it will be around the same price. Rememer that you need to convert from AUS doller to the US doller, then add the Tax.... So after everything is changed and added, you basicaly get the same price for the same thing.

Besides, I don't want a too big of a monitor. I want more of a better PC.
