My wife and I just watched the movie "Last Samurai" and found it to be worthy of our small collection. A bit graphic, but the acting was good, the costumes and effects were great, and there actually was a story in there.

I glad to hear someone liked it. I've been thinking about seeing it.

I love historical stuff!

I should be getting that movie from Netflix around Wednesday. I've really been looking forward to seeing it. It is rare I ever get to go out to the movies any more so I usually have to rely on Netflix or cable to watch the movies I want to see.

The only movie I've gone to the theater this year to see is Return of the King. I really miss catching all the summer flicks as soon as they come out each week but I just cant do that anymore. I am going to make an effort yo see Troy though, but probably not until it's been out for a week or so.

Alas, I agree. Wasn't really very surprising, and as usual, the trailer told nearly the whole story.

Now, a movie I saw just recently, that really blew my mind (if you're into oriental setting flicks) was Hero , a Chinese movie. Another good one was Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... and Spring , a Korean movie. Both very good (but only Hero is actually an "action" movie.

I saw in the cinema when it came out ... Nice movie, nicely filmed and nice locations. But Tom Cruise had that "Now give the Oscar to me" look all the time, which prevented him from acting ... So, I dont think its worthy enough for my DVD Collection.

But as we are into movies now ... I just came back from seeing "Troy" ... that is an awesome movie. Great story, great actors and even greater battles. You somehow believe the claim they make in the trailer ... "The greatest battle ever fought".
