Hello and greetings from the Noel Freidline Quintet!
I know you have not heard from us for a while, but we have some very good news. We have some performance dates to announce and some news about our new CD.
First, our new CD "Four Nights at the Slammer" is slammin' up the charts! We are currently # 35 on the national jazz radio charts and moving up. We have been on the top fifty charts
for the last five weeks. We couldn't be more thrilled. Well, actually we would be more thrilled if we can keep it moving up. That's where you all come in. We have kind of a "grass roots"
marketing ploy we would like to execute (I am not really sure what a "grass roots" anything is, but someone once told me that we are that way, so I am going to go with it).
Many of the albums we are competing with are on big labels that have a lot of staff, and manpower to promote their albums. In the way of staff, we have…..well…..we don't have squat.
BUT, we have a very dedicated group of supporters (that's ya'll). The way our album will move up the charts is if it gets played. Each track played is called a "spin." Right now we are
getting about 270 spins a week (give or take a spin or two). The difference between positions on the charts is about 10 to 20 spins.
We would like to ask all of you, if you have a chance, to call your local public radio station and request our CD "Four Nights at the Slammer."
Most of our airplay occurs in public radio. Just send us an email with the city or area that you are in and we will email back the name of the closest station, along with a schedule of their
jazz programs and their request line (if they have one). As many or as few calls as you could make would be great, and we would appreciate it more than we can tell you. If you feel like
hitting a few stations, just let us know, we can send you the info on several. If you are really feeling ambitious, you have some extra long distance minutes on you cell phone, and feel
like making a bunch of calls, we will email you the whole darn list!
Along with moving us up the charts, it will increase our exposure in areas that are unfamiliar with us, which makes it much easier to get booked in those areas.
Thanks for your support. Any help you can give us would great, great, great.
You may have noticed that our website performance schedule has not been updated for a little while. This is because since our February tour we have been doing mostly private
performances here in Las Vegas. But we are starting to get out in the public once again.
Our next major public performances will be in the Southeast in the middle of May.
May 15-17: The Jazz Corner, Hilton Head Is., SC 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
May 18: Dancin' in the Streets, Atlantic Beach, FL Corner of Atlantic and 1st St. 2:30 pm
May 19: Sun City Hilton Head, Concert Series 2 pm
And a very special thanks to all of you who came out to support us on our February tour of the Southeast. We did 24 shows in 25 days and it went wonderfully. We can't thank you all
enough for your support. We had a really great time.
We hope to see you all soon.
