& for the other person talking about grammar are spelling!! Everyone isn't perfect!! If y'all don't like the way I word things on here just don't comment on it!! I'm not a perfect & care not to!! I don't go on any1 else's page & say anything about their post!! So please don't do it on mine!!

Some people are not good spellers but that does not give anyone the right to make fun of someone. If it bothers you that much then move on to another thread. We are all here because of our various interests and everyone should be made to feel welcome.

Nobody expects perfection, but we do expect users of Lit to be intelligible. You are NOT 3 years old and you are NOT sending any of us text messages. Use fully formed words and phrases to express yourself and you'll find nobody will ever say a word to you about it. We don't care if you mispel your werds or not, it's the text-speak that riles everyone's nerves.

Damn I didn't realize it mattered so much how some one types something. If it bothers You so much then don't read it. It's sad. I told him what a great place lit was and how welcoming everyone was. But I was completely wrong. Most on here are a bunch of judgemental pricks that are so concerened with what is considered proper language that they can't let people do what they came here to do. Which is to have fun.

Text-speak in any forum, let alone one catering to writers make you look like an illiterate moron. If that is the way you want to be portrayed, then that is how you shall be treated. Likewise with snotty-assed attitudes. You would do well to take a shot of your own advice and NOT read posts that bother you. Better yet, put us all on ignore, then you won't be troubled by our comments towards illiterate morons.

Now that the record has been set straight, we harbor no ill-will towards you or Flintvoyager. Heed the advice, let the matter drop, and all will be well again.

I wasn't intending to make fun or degrade, just comment.

Maybe it's the lit (short for literature) that makes me expect a little higher standard for the forums. Or it just because I come from another time where in order to use a computer and connect to the internet you needed technical skills. The kind of people you'd go to to get your homework done.
I understand that those same people are the ones responsible for this brief-format context only language, but that was for specific usage and due to a number of factors; not something that should be used to express real concepts or to communicate with general public.

Yes, it would be maybe more considerate to just move on, but maybe I've worked with too many immigrants who struggle with English language. Seeing the English language butchered intentionally is sort of an insult to those people working hard to use the proper grammar and getting odd looks for it.

I'm not an asshole for this, (stubborn as) a mule maybe but I don't do it to be an asshole.

Actually, yes - it does matter. Why? Because poorly worded or text speak messages can be very difficult to decipher (especially amongst those not familiar with text speak). When I say difficult, I mean in terms of actual readability and meaning. And when people find it difficult to read a post, they tend to think, "Eh - fuck it" and move on. To which you might say, "Well good riddance, then."

But if your purpose for being here is to interact with like minded people and you'd like responses to your posts, don't you think it'd be in your best interest to make your messages as understandable to as many people as possible?

For what it's worth - I'm not trying to be a bitch: just offer some friendly advice.

I don't particularly care if I don't get to see the naughty bits. What's more erotic to me is when I get to see the emotion on someone's face in response to whatever it is their partner is doing to them. IMO - the sight of a man, his brow furrowed in concentration and neck or back arched in pleasure is an infinitely more arousing visual than his penis could ever be. But I'm picky. :p

Which is why cheap porn doesn't do it for me. Actually, it's why most porn doesn't do it for me.

The common argument against the use of semi-proper spelling and grammar around here is the tired "but it's a porn board" argument. You know what? Lit's not a "porn board"; it's a site for readers and writers of erotica, and it sucks beyond belief that some people think that erotica is some sort of lesser genre in which any type of thought-vomit is acceptable. It's an insult to Lit's best writers.

People are free to write however they wish. I'm just as free to judge them for what they say and how they say it.

Unlike bailadora, I am trying to be a bitch, and I don't give a fuck about giving friendly advice. I get paid to give friendly writing advice to people who don't take it, so by the time I come here to unwind, I don't have the patience for the shit that often gets spewed on these boards. Anyone who has a problem with what I've said can feel free to improve his or her Lit experience by using the Ignore function that the vBulletin folks have so generously provided for us.

Texting should be done in texting situations, not on discussion boards. If you are wanting intelligent responses to a post then the post should be done intelligently. This doesn't mean that all spelling and grammar have to be like a professor, especially when typos can easily happen, but textspeak does not really belong on a literary discussion forum.

for some reasons, some of the SOFT CORE stuff gets me hard faster! just thinking about what COULD be happening! i don't know...
