Ask for time off from a Mistress or Owner. Not sure how to ask my Mistress for some time off. Not release from the contract mind you but some time to explore

I think you have it right. If she doesn't mind that you have a girlfriend or wife just remind her of that and ask her for her permission to explore the possibility of a girlfriend or wife. I think asking her permission might show her that you still respect her position in your relationship. That is what I think anyway.

Are there circumstances under which you are allowed to speak your mind as you would wish?
Perhaps you need to explain your feelings for this other person and discuss where the two of you Will proceed as mistress and sub.

Out of curiosity, are you looking to meet/date someone who's open to kink, like a woman who would eventually become your mistress as well as your gf/wife? Or are you seeking a partner who is OK with you having a mistress?

I suppose that's the issue I'd focus on if I were you. If you're into kink, you're probably not going to feel totally satisfied in a vanilla relationship, which means you either need a new partner who will also dominate you or one who is open to different relationship styles.

I must admit I haven't done much at all in the way of finding someone in a while now.
