Holy shit...what a surprise. I really didn't expect this.

Some background: When this all started, everyone's favorite slutty librarian was instructed to do certain things that would make it crystal clear she got the message. Once she did these certain things, I would lay off the payback.

She has surprised the hell out of me and done at least a few of those things. Not all of them, but perhaps enough.

Since I am a man of my word, all payback is suspended as of right now. I say "suspended" because if she so much as breathes in my friend's direction, I will drop those bombs and make her life a living hell.

So all of you who were so worried about little ms_intrigue get your wish -- she now has an opportunity to get her life straightened out.

But the moment she fucks up, we start all this again. So stay tuned!

The debate can still continue, of course. I'm enjoying this thread...at least the parts that contain real discourse rather than attacks.

Also, another point. What makes you think there was no turning the other cheek? As I have mentioned numerous times, she tried to contact my friend for YEARS. Over and over. I knew about this and kept my mouth shut until I could take it no longer.

Not that I mind my name being out there, but I do wonder...I would have gotten banned for mentioning HER name, so does she get banned for mentioning mine? That will be interesting to see...

Some of the things I can't mention, because they would involve personal information and we're quite careful about that around here...apparently. But she did have to take particular actions, such as confessing to certain people before I got to them. I'm not entirely sure she has done all of them...we'll see.

I did say that I wanted her to see that her actions have consequences. I never said I wanted to completely destroy her life (though I admit, she probably does deserve it and I would have loved it if she gave me cause). She has obviously seen that she can't get away with what she's doing, and that's what I wanted.

But even if I had given a list of things that must be done, I don't think it would have changed the attitude of those here. The thought of someone not just thinking about vengeance, but actually going about getting it, obviously struck a nerve with a lot of people.

I don't know if she's actually miserable, though I would like to think she is. The fallout isn't too bad yet (though there are some pieces already set in motion that can't be stopped, so this will drag on for her for another few weeks yet).

At the very least, I think she's had a very good scare that has her quaking in her little librarian heels. I hope the promise of more hanging over her head will keep her on the straight and narrow.

Any yet, you assume and behave as though you are dealing with a mentally stable person, when in fact you have worked very hard in this thread to make her look mentally questionable at best.

Do not be surprised if your plan backfires. Nobody has to have skeletons or have lived a questionable life to have somebody else come in and wreak havoc and cause major problems for them.

Perhaps you will get what you believe to be your happy ending and you will get sit back and watch with satisfaction. If so, it speaks volumes about your character, or lack thereof.

Now that I'm caught up on the thread, time for an update:

I called my friends last night to let them know that ms_intrigue heard the message loud and clear. They asked for the broad strokes, not the details.

My friend said that he was so far removed from her and that situation that it was hard to feel anything at all. He said she was like a bad dream that had faded away. But after he talked about it more, he said he was glad she had finally been forced to deal with it, but because she was forced into it, he didn't think it would stick. I agreed that it probably won't.

His wife was very quiet about it and said she needed some time to think about it. She wanted more details than my friend did. She called me back late last night and thanked me for what I did and said that after it sank in she felt almost giddy with relief. She said "a great weight has been lifted" because "she isn't getting away with hurting me anymore."

I have to admit, hearing the relief in her voice made me wish I had done this much sooner.
