What have you heen doing during the quarantine?

Well I really have enjoyed myself for the most part. Even though God is in control I still tend to be a worrier. Darn Worry! Otherwise I have been doing things I don't usually have time to do or procrastinate in getting done. Working some. Spending time with my kids and husband. Working with a local group to make sure people have what they need during this. "Porch Angels" is what it's called. Brings back a lot of faith in humanity because in my area neighbors were really helping neighbors. People were already reaching out to help others before anything was organized. We haven't been real busy. People are trying to help in many ways. ex. making masks. How about you?

I am doing fine. COVID19 doesn't worry me at all. I am one of those who thinks it's over blown. I have done my research and although it can be bad for a few, for the overwhelming majority, it's nothing to worry about. They are also inflating numbers intentionally for political purposes .

Yes the whole world is inflating the numbers, the whole world is on a lock down, yet a few stupid Americans think this a political situation.

COVID19 is overblown. I don't agree with shutting down the economy over it. There have been a several new studies and they show that the death rate is 25-85 times lower than expected, making it no worse than the regular flu. So are you willing to shut everything down during flu season?

So let us use your 85x infection factor above the currently reported infections of 1,132,000 and see what that means.

As such there could be 96 million Americans who have had COVID-19 then. With currently about 66,000 deaths with about 17,000 still in hospital. ( for all the hubris about inflating deaths numbers, you can also find evidence of state suppression of those numbers too)

That means there are still 226 Million Americans who have not been infected. Remember there is no cure, nor has anyone shown immunity to this virus. All we see is some people become more seriously ill than others.

Using straight comparatives that means the potential exists for another 155,000 deaths and 200,000 or so hospitalized serious case's on top what has transpired so far. (355,000 more people will need to be in hospital for 2-3 weeks)

This assumes that a person who has recovered from COVID-19 now has immunity. That has yet to be proven.

Unfortunately what I have posted is based upon a society that is following some social distancing and isolating protocols. It does not reflect an "open society".

Now come up with some real sources, such as the CDC, or from the WHO...not Fox or facebook...

It's the studies that were done by Universities in NY and California. It's the Facts that can't be refuted.

Are those studies yet peer reviewed and published in any reputable medical journal?


If you note in my original post, I used the values from those studies, and did the math which is above.

By your reply, you are quite fine with the 200,000-1,000,000 or so people dying in the US from this, all for the sake of the economy. Not to mention the labour issue when people fall ill and now unable to work for up to a month, and let us not forget the little unknown on immunity, does it happen, and if so, for how long?

Which is why I later said it is a good thing you believe in god...chuckles.

Did God send the Corona Virus to punish us? Is Satan attacking us with the Corona Virus? Does the Corona Virus simply prove that we are a fallen world? The answer is......I don't know. God is omniscient so he knows the plan. (He didn't ask my advice)

I think that the Coronavirus was man made in a lab and whether intentional or not, it was released to the public. That's not God's doing. I believe that God allows sin and suffering to show man what the consequence of sin is so that those who choose eternal life in Christ will understand in eternity why we need to obey and submit our lives to God.

So God’s a buck passer too? God was the original cause of human suffering, starting with the curse of Adam and Eve.

I don't think you are giving Adam enough credit. He wasn't stupid. He was given the instruction before Eve was even created. She knew about it obviously, but did she learn it from Adam or God...we don't know. (Personally I think she learned it from Adam because as important as this point is, if God had told her directly, I think it would be included. Just an opinion though.)

Long Answer:

Genealogies in the bible only list men. Seth, Cain and Abel were mentioned because their stories would be significant. But it does say:

4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters

Love in the Garden would have been a perfect love. I don't think we can begin to understand how perfect relationships could have been. We would have been perfect in mind, body and soul. Once humans left the garden and society began - genetic things occurred. Life spans became shorter. Mutations began. At a certain point God did forbid incest. Leviticus 8:8-18 shows some forbidden relationships. I won't post the whole thing here.

Short answer:

Cain did his sister - or a close relation.

I didn't know who Bart Ehrman was so I checked him out. He has an interesting progression from belief in Christianity to Atheism. I think the beginning of where he and I have differences is in the above quote you shared. Jesus did not come to interpret the Hebrew bible but to bring it to completion. He was the Messiah that the Jewish people were waiting for and through him we can be saved into eternal life with God.

Long story short: Jesus taught that Heaven is where God is and there will be joy, rewards, and treasures. It will be a place of rest and peace. This will be eternal. Sounds good to me...paradise. (Jesus told the criminal on the cross that tonight he would be in paradise.)

I don't know how you can look at verses like Mark 9:43 that Jesus taught and not think there is an eternal hell. Mark 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched. Also eternal. Doesn't sound good to me...painful.
