Jesus followed with a blanket statement about rich men and camels. You are wrong.Jesus was actually addressing that man's attachement to money and possessions. He wasn't making a blanket statement.

God's Word isn't loonie Tune. They said the same stuff to Noah and the Prophets.
So you think you are a prophet?
Why do you constantly bump your thread with emojis?
I am not sure, but I know that Noah was one.
So xfrodo thinks Noah was a prophet. Oh dear! Now, any body who knows the Bible would also know that Noah is definitely neither a Jewish, nor is he a Christian prophet.
However, every good Moslem knows that the Koran in contrast establishes Noah as a prophet of Islam. So, it is perfectly clear from xfrodo's claim that he must be a closet Moslem.![]()
You don't have to be Jewish to be a Prophet. God spoke to Noah and told him that there would be a flood. God commanded him to build the Arc. Noah preached for over 100 years. There are things called Dispensations. Moses was the Dispensation of Law. Under Noah, they were under the dispensation of Conscience. The quran is a twisted copy cat version of the Bible. mohammad was not even an eyewitness and his writings contradict the eyewitness accounts of the Bible. he was nothing more than a false prophet.

Noah might have been a prophet, but he wasn’t much of an historian. He only passed down five chapters of Genesis, and one of those was his personal family tree.
And yet all the Biblical prophets were Jews. Noah wasn't a prophet or a Jew; the Early Yaweh sacrifice cult pinched the story from much older Sumerian sources - and unlike the Bible we have the original written sources for that, inscribed on clay tablets round about 2400 BC more than 1,500 years before the Biblical flood was written down.
Attacking Islam is counter productive because the Jewish and Islamic theologies of God/Allah are identical - no Trinitarian clap trap at all. Attack either and you are attacking the foundations of your own religious heritage. Its the Christians that perverted monotheism through Paul's claims on Jesus' behalf. That was backed up by the Church at the time, and your church swallowed the whole of the Roman Catholic dogma.
The Koran is not a copy cat version of the Bible. To start with it is only 2/3 as long as the NT and doesn't purport to cover the same areas at all. Incidentally Isa(Jesus) gets a decent mention in the Koran and his mother even more so. You should read it, you might learn something.
And forget this 'eyewitness' bullshit; there are absolutely none anywhere whatsoever in the Bible. Believe whatever you want, but don't try to claim it has any verifiable truth: it does not.
Most of the time xfrodo I cannot be bothered arguing with you because you are so profoundly ignorant. You need to develop an appreciation of all the religious writings which preceded the Bible before prating your nonsense.![]()
Not even close xfrodo.
Enoch was a prophet, not a Jew. Noah was a prophet , not a Jew. Abraham was a prophet, not a Jew. How much is recorded in the Bible before Israel? Not much. In Genesis, the first book of the Bible and in the first few chapters is where the Jewish race begins. OF COURSE Most of the prophets in the Bible are Jewish because they are the ones who worshiped the true and living God. But so did Noah and So did Enoch and so did Abraham. So, your premise that all prophets are Jewish is false. There are no writings that predate the Bible that the Bible was copied from. You obviously have no idea how the Bible came about. It was written over a period of 1600 years. Attacking islam for the false religion that it is is exactly right because mohammad merely copied the stories of the Bible and twisted them up and changed them. Anyone could do that. he is a false prophet. The stories in the quran were copied by mohammad 600 years AFTER the Bible was completed. he was NOT an eyewitness to the events as the Biblical writers were AND his stories directly contradict the stories of the Bible. Therefore, he is a false prophet. I am not attacking the Bible at all. I am not a Roman Catholic either. ANA Baptists precede the Catholic Church. They can be traced all the way back to the original Christians, they were the under ground Church And their beliefs are like mine, NOT yours. With that said, I don't rely on what some Church says, I rely on what the Bible says. The only ignorant person here is YOU. You are brainwashed and don't know the first thing about Biblical history. One of the criteria for a book to be included in the Canon was that it had to be written by an Apostle and an Eyewitness. The only two that were exceptions because they were not Apostles were James and Jude because they were half brothers of Christ. Do your research.
I agree with most of what lustopia says. Even though I identify myself as Christian, it would be wrong not to acknowledge that both Islam, Judaism and Christianity all derive from the same root. Islam arose nearly six centuries after the death of Christ and the beginnings of Christianity, but came from the same traditions and the same core faith. I do believe there is a certain divine wisdom to be gained from most faiths, even those which I philosophically disagree with on many points.
Some stories in the Bible were based on real events. There was, no doubt, a king David. The Egyptian enslavement of the caananites (early Jews) was probably a real thing. A volcanic eruption probably destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. There MAY have been a seismic event that could have accounted for the Red Sea to suddenly drop, allowing for a temporary passage across for fleeing civilians. Although the evidence for this is pretty scant. But there is plenty of evidence for the flood of Noah, which likely occurred when the ice age ended and sea levels rose hundreds of feet due to melting glaciers. Some sources say that an ice dam on the Black Sea gave way suddenly, flooding the near east with hundreds of feet of water all at once.
