Whacked with a magazine?
I have already acknowledged that I would not do things the same way God did in the Old Testament. Did people have hardened hearts and need it? I don't know. Believe it or not I am not that old and I wasn't there.
The thing you are not wanting to look at is the Doctrine of Grace. It did change things. Jesus does refer to things in the Old testament but it is usually followed by the words "but I say......."
GRACE
Romans 3:20-24 New International Version (NIV)
20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
Righteousness Through Faith Romans 3:20-24
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in[a] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
What is the old hymn.....Jesus paid it all...all to him I owe.![]()
Yes, anyone chronicling the history of spanking must now include that tidbit. He paid Stormy Daniels to spank him with one.
"Righteousness through faith" is a doctrine that makes no sense whatsoever, and not even God can change that.
The word grace in the Bible means “unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification” or “God’s benevolence to the undeserving.” Biblically, “saving grace” is the grace of God that saves a person.
Grace is not amazing because of our faith it is amazing because the of this: No matter how big or small our faith, it could not be effective if God wasn’t graciously willing to save us.

What makes no sense is that we should need saving. That faith or "grace" should have anything to do with it makes even less sense.
Well you either want a relationship with God or you don't.
Well you either want a relationship with God or you don't. He doesn't make ya!!!

It also makes no sense that a relationship with God should be important. That's like worrying about whether the ants in your farm like you.
But will you be saying that on judgement day? When the Lord comes down to take those who are good, and love Him, to heaven?
Is that coming up? I ask because I'm booked through February. But will you be saying that on judgement day? When the Lord comes down to take those who are good, and love Him, to heaven?

Yeah. If folks aren't god fearing, then threats don't work.
Though according to the bible I won't say shit. You don't get a defense. God looks in the book and your name is either in there or it's not. You don't get a chance to speak. It's rigged against you.
It is based on names though, which seems like a bad way to do that. What if I just get there first but there's someone else with my name who is a totally pious dude but they just read off the names and I get into Heaven via clerical error.
I wonder how many times that's happened? You'd think they'd use a better system to track that.
That'd make a good movie. I'd watch that.
It's also completely irrelevant to what we were talking about before- that is strictly following the laws of the bible.
It's not nepotism. You don't get to ignore the rules because god likes you better.
That would seem to be the point of grace.
I try my hardest to be good. Of course I'm not perfect, but I'd like to assume I am good a lot of time, and always remember that He is watching. Those who are good are not those who love Him.
From the article:I try my hardest to be good. Of course I'm not perfect, but I'd like to assume I am good a lot of time, and always remember that He is watching.
And how dare you post that disgusting article on St Teresa of Calcutta. That was extremely foul on your part.
It seems those who DON'T love him, aren't the good ones either.
You know that is all true, right? While some contend that Mother Teresa's policy of not administering medication to the sick and dying in her clinics may have caused some in Heaven to doubt her true compassion, others believe that her constant speeches against birth control—a contributing factor to mass overpopulation, poverty and starvation throughout the Third World—may be to blame.

"My body is a temple, so get on your knees."
From the article:

Teresa of Calcutta was obsessed with poverty and suffering - but did not give a damn about the poor or the sufferers. They were just fodder for Catholic conversions. Not only did she not allow medication of the poor she spent thousands on a heart pacemaker for herself - which she flew to the USA to have installed.
The Indian government liked Terese because it gave the appearance that they were doing something for the Dalits (Untouchables) when in fact they did nothing.
Terese was made a saint because of her dog like devotion to Catholic orthodoxy. Nothing else.
Incidentally, I met her twice in the 70', 80's. You could tell she was coming by the stench of stale urine she carried with her. Hygiene was not her strong suit.
Born lived and died a pig ignorant Albanian peasant.

What makes you think that poor people are dirty? In a few books based on Mother Teresa, it is noted she never claimed to run hospitals. They were a place for the poor people that real hospitals REFUSED to touch. Mother T would try and bring some of them to the hospital first, and she'd be sent on her way as the doctors and nurses would refuse to deal with the poor patients, viewing them as lost causes. The Lord didn't call her to be a doctor, she was a nun.
I know the ramblings and theories inspired by the late and drunk Christopher Hitchens when I hear it. It seems everyone whose anti Mother T only has the same points made by the same miserable drunk to spew at me over and over. In numerous books , mother T's good work is shown. From various countries in the world, including America. The medication statement, false. I don't care what your drunk told you.
And as for your sly remarks about meeting Mother Teresa, how dare you. In her books it is stated many times she'd go to some event , and get distracted by helping someone along the way, that's probably where the urine smell came from. Sometimes helping the poor gets dirty.
Or perhaps you peed yourself a bit because you had such an honor of meeting a great saint. How dare you look down onto a wonderful gift from God like that. Very wicked and nasty!
You will become a better, purer soul the day you give Him the finger.
What makes you think that poor people are dirty?
Why on earth would I do that?
