“Abba” is no closer to the name of any god being worshipped at the time than “Flying Spaghetti Monster.” Even today, those who worship Abba are a pretty marginal sect.

What evidence do you have for the Flying Spaghetti monster? Ancient writings? Eyewitness testimonies? Changed lives by the millions? Historical writings talking about his death and resurrection? Tell me more about him.
Allah fills that criteria mostly.
The Roman Catholics are pretty flush.Notre Dame in Paris is in ruins. Anyone here gonna give them a hand to re-build?
I admire the building as a historic landmark, but I am not a Catholic.
Granted. But you do purport to be a christian.Should a distinction be drawn?
A distinction between what? I said I admire the Building as a historic land mark but I am not a Catholic. Isn't that a distinction?
You say you are a christian. Catholics are christians too. You share 99% of your theological and ethical beliefs with them, therefore don't you feel moved to expand yor admiration for an historical landmark to some more tangible help.
Plenty of precedent to consider. Lutheran Protestants paid for the completion of Cologne's Catholic Cathedral. In Norway Protestant church buildings and cathedrals are regularly lent out and used by other denominations. Strikes me that getting different denominations to work together rather than stress miniscule differences might make more sense.
