I think LadyVer is correct. I have a few over 900 posts and have 250 PM space. My wife has over 1000 posts and has 500 PM space.

Download the messages you don't need right now to your computer, then delete them. You keep the messages and free up space; problem solved. The option to save them to an XML file or whatever is on your main pm page or inbox, iirc.

I think you don't get it immediately. Like, if you get just over 1000 posts, you may have to log out and then back in. But you definitely get 500 when you get a thousand posts.

Pmann is correct, though: it can take time and even logging out and clearing your lit cookies for the database to recognize you're over a post threshold. So when you reach those points, remember to be patient with the system.
