I have noticed that, at least in my area, society views taboo sex differently depending on the gender of the people involved in sex. For example it appears that;
Women kissing women is accepted more readily than men kissing men.

Women loving women is accepted more readily than men loving men.

Sisters being with brothers is more readily accepted than mothers being with sons which is more readily accepted than fathers being with daughters.

Here at Lit, I will sooner read a brother/sister incest story than a parent/child incest story. I will read lesbian sex stories but never gay men stories.

Is this because of society's moral teachings or just our human nature?

The answer my freind is BLOWING in the wind.... :D

But seriously, the answer is..............YES

t_g, I think it's a combonation of both. Once you have what society has jammed down your throat for so long take seed and grow in you, you have to *unlearn* it. Just like any other attitude, taboos on sex aren't there when we're born, they are taught. Just like you aren't born hating another race, you learn it, be it by someone elses influence or your own experiences. And once you *learn* a behavior or view, it is not easy to unlearn it.

It is cultural. In some Asian cultures for example it was traditional for a mother to "train" her son in the art of love making. This would therefore not be as taboo as it is for Western cultures. I suspect that in most cultures, father/daughter is the greatest taboo. Anthropologically, there are few cultures which don't have mores surrounding this practice.
