Every day.

Three hours of intense yoga and pilates. Once a week at Bally's, sometimes more if I can manage it. My life is a very active one so I have to be in top shape for it.

Back when I was conditioning to hike the entire Appalachian Trail I was rockclimbing about every weekend for a few months trying to get in the best shape I could be in.

Best exercise I've found so far though... sex, sex, and yes... more sex.

Wow. Do your remember preacher's rock on the way to Blood Mountian? That is the only section I've hiked but would love to do more.

We went on the hottest day of the year. I thought my girlfriend at the time, was going to die. She was stronger then me at the end. The walk down Blood Mountain wasn't fun.

No, I doubt I would ever do the whole thing. You have me wanting to go now, but with all the rain yesterday, I guess it would be kind of sloppy today.

I read in a book that Pennsylvania is a long hard state to get through.

i exercise every day... walking about 60-90 minutes. i don't do a power walk but i don't stroll either. but i don't do much in the way of weights or aerobics or any other workout-type stuff.

since you guys are familiar with the appalachian trail and the hiking game i thought i'd ask... who was the blind guy who hiked the whole thing from georgia to maine (he lives at the northern end of it now) with his seeing-eye dog? the name has escaped me for years even though i did an event with him around 2001. any idea who i'm talking about?

3 to 4 times a week, for 2 hours each time, as per the new Air Force fitness guidelines. Consisting ok a 3.2 mile run, pushups and sit ups to muscle failure and/or light weight training or racketball. The last two depending on my mood that day.

Bill Irwin? At least I think that's his name. Quite an admirable character. ;)

YES! thank you! that's the guy... now if only i can find the video i made of his presentation. lol.

and i'm sorry for momentarily hijacking the thread. now back to our regularly scheduled poll.

I workout usually 6 days a week and Sundays I rest. Sometimes. Mon-Wed-Fri. I work out for four hours starting at 4 a.m. I usually spend one hour with nothing but warming up and stretching, and hour of katas, an hour of practicing technigues and then an hour of sparring. On the other days it is all cardio and I usually spend two hours on the bike and one jumping rope. I used to use wieghts and sometimes still do. I am just going for speed and flexibility now in my older years. I like to play rough and I am not into gentle sports. And a few runs down the track at 175mph can do a number on the body.

I walk a lot. But that's more because it's kind of pointless to drive to class. It's not that far away and the way the campus is setup it's just easier to walk. There's some days that I hop a bus instead of walking cuz I just dont feel like it. But I dont really count it as exercise since I do it almost everyday. Other than that, I'm really busy between classes, homework, a certain someone, friends, clubs, and all the rest of it that I'm just happy if I can get an extra hour of sleep at night instead of spending that hour exercising.

i try to go everyday or if not that everyother day. I enjoy working out... it gives a power trip feeling :]

I work out at least 5 to 6 days a week one day I will lift weights and then the next day I will go run 2 miles, gotta keep the body in shape for the ladies

My roomie and I just made a pact together at dinner that we will excercise every night together at the wellness center, unless there is some good reason why we cannot (for example, tomorrow we have a band concert rehersal for 3 hours). We just finished with out first session. Let's hope we keep it up!

twice a week
upper body one day
lower half the other

and I walk everyday, plus I have a pup that keeps me active... and then there is the SO ;)

I ride a stationary bike(yeah I know...it belongs in some kind of "fitness museum")for 40-60 minutes everyday.Every other day I lift weights and target a certain body part.Arms,legs,chest,back/shoulders.I used to jog in place 80 minutes a day in my late teens.I think if I tried that now(I'm 33)I might die.I can't imagine ever not exercising. Its in my blood.

Daily, I run for an hour, and every other day I do thirty minutes of pilates, and then there's work, I dance almost every night.

since we have some avid workout people here, i have to ask...

what can someone do with a pair of dumbells that's a fairly complete workout? they're the only tools i have to work with and would like to do something other than walking, situps, pushups, etc.

I guess my exercise comes from work. With all the cut backs I find myself on my feet and all of the building each day. It involves heavy lifting from anyway from 1 lb to 280lbs. Oh, and my workday is 11 hours a day. I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall, weigh in at 200lbs, 52 inch chest and a 38 inch waist. The arms are 19 1/2 inches. When I get home I wanna relax I have had enough exercise...:D
