It's an option...you get an email every time someone replies to a thread or something...

If the threads that have been disappearing are older ones, then the problem might be that they haven't been replied to in the last 30 days. The default view only shows threads that have been active in the past 30 days - but you can change that at the bottom of your 'subscribed threads' screen, if you select 'show threads from the beginning', that should list all your threads (it will reset to the default view again the next time you check though).
