There must be thousands I would think.

I can think of a few off the top of my head...

Allison - Elvis Costello
Oh Mickey - ?
Gigi - ?

Michelle - Beatles

Dawn - ? can't think he did that one...

Don't think there is one for Cassidy, sigh....

Just a couple:

"Michelle" by the Beatles (well, when it's the song EVERYBODY sings to ya when they first meet ya, it gets old!)

"Runaround Sue"

"Diana"

"Donna" by Richie Valens

"Wake up Little Susie"

oh but david CASSIDY and sean CASSIDY sang songs so well about women! ;)

(loved both of them as a teenybopper...and who could forget bobby shermann)

Gigi--Lerner and Lowe, but the character was from a story by the French author Colette.

Nancy with the Laughing Face--Phil Silvers (yes, the commedian) and Jimmy van Heusen. Written for Sinatra's daughter.

Hey Jude - Beatle
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - Rolling Stones
Macarena - Los Del Rio
Clint Eastwood - Gorillaz

Don't know if I should actually admit this but.....

I had a Bobby Sherman lunch box in the fifth grade. Madly in love with him at the time..LMAO

I had forgotten about the Cassidy boys. They were cuties, huh?

Cassidy

G-L-O-R-I-A
actually, Gloria is the song title of a few different songs.

(my youngest's favorite song...)

omg...

I didn't know that!!!

Where do you store all of this musical trivia?? :)

Kisses,
Cassidy

Well, the "Cassidy" one I looked up....but all the others I knew. This was my music growing up :) Just don't ask me anything about rock released in the last 5-10 years..

"The Beatles"

Sorry, kids, but let's get the attributions right.

It's Lennon and McCartney, not "the Beatles." Both Michelle and Hey Jude were "Paul" songs, although "Jude" refered to John's son, Julian.

It's just that there's this little dog nipping at my heels when he hears that: my pet, Peeves.

For my contribution, add Sweet Jane, by Lou Reed.

"Boris the Spider" - The Who

and kotori, we're talking about who performed the song, not who wrote it. I don't remember any band called "Lennon and McCartney", though I do remember the "Plastic Ono Band" :D

Sorry, I just assumed that since the subject was "names in titles" (i.e., the title words that were written by the lyricist), that the performer wasn't the point.

How should we catagorize Georgia on my Mind: by Ray Charles (who always gave the impression of singing about the State), or by Hoagy Carmichael (who wrote the song for his sister, Georgia)?
